  1. only the honest people have a license ,when i expect most death by shootings comes from people without them ,no problem getting guns of any description or ammo either, large furtive chaps in most cities will supply you with them unfortunatly they dont issue receipts in case of breakage ,just after the falklands war there were plenty of pistols about ,i got offered one for £20 in a local pub ,it looked like it had never been used speaking of weopons why dont the army drop these crap rifles we have now and issue ak47`s etc there usefull in all conditions ,if they get broke one of the natives will fix it for a couple of fags no problem
  2. i thought they all looked like that in glasgow oor willie never had his pail knicked how times have changed ,reinforce your butnben noo
  3. america also has a few odd uns why are kansas and arkansas pronounced differently  and why call a city la  of course names like portsmouth and new england etc are great but a river called mississippi
  4. they can force the roof of if its nailed (the usual way) different though if its screwed down ,use a mini drill to mark your post code ,on the reel seat and the reel fittings on the rods ,i expect the profesional thief has his own uv source so can spot the markings . if you have time today pilot drill some holes in the frame of your shed and stick some screws in ,before doing so see how easy it is to pry the shed apart youl be shocked ,dont forget to screw the shed to the floor and the roof (all from the inside) that just leaves the window and door if your mum wont let the stuff inside then make a strong cupboard inside the shed using real wood (mdf and chipboard are useless)make a frame securely fixed to the shed ,glue and screw all the joints use heavy hinges with a couple of antitamper screws on each section a good hasp and lock and fit one of those little alarms from argos on the inside of your door and on the shed door ,the harder it is for them to get in the more chance of being caught [ 11. 5. we have the smallest house you can amagine the rod bags (2 of them) are kept under the bed and the tacklebox (large shakespear sized) has a cloth on it and is used as a bedside table ,the stuff i dont use regulary (pike stuff and old rods )are kept in the loft ,no problem if it doesnt smell of fish (for your mums benefit
  6. how could you prove the tackle was yours ? i know for a fact that i have no receipts for any of mine (the stuff i use ) i tend to keep them till the warrenty runs out then have a clearout if everybody had to prove they owned the items car boots would disapear ,adverts in papers and small adds would become extinct ,but worst of all i wouldnt be able to collect intrepids the lock pictured has an obvious fault in that it can be left with the pin up (as in photo) ,maybe to make it better it could be made that you can only remove the key with the pin down and locked
  7. damn i was looking forward to it tisk
  8. i wait with intrest to the answer to that question newt

  11. saw a interesting tv prog tonight about the farmers (same as us, cliques not helping each other) should we all set up our bivies infront of the gov departments concerned or would it not have the same effect
  12. if it doesnt boot from the floppy then it may need a delve into the bios to make it seek the floppy first although a strange lap top i had (a strange american armoured one as seen in the gulf war )needed the operator to hold down ctl,alt and F to make it boot from a floppy (the bios was un changeable for radiation reasons so much so it only could take a specific hard drive and no other)i sold it to the labs for a experiment it was the only machine the students couldnt screw up
  13. my old road was sheephatch lane ? obviasly not much sex education in the 10th or 11th century

  15. but it was cut off  there is no room to cut this one off when it on its hasp nor room for levers ,disc cutters or bolt croppers and its drill proof as well [ 10. August 2002, 10:56 PM: Message edited by: chesters1 ]
  16. towns  is that the place we go saturday shopping in ?.funny places ,the gardens dont seem to have fields attached to them or cows that eat your veggies
  17. havent you heard of precautions  its not the 1950`s anymore you cant go out and leave your front door open anymore  take it as a lesson make it very hard for people to take your stuff ,we shouldnt have to, but reinforce your sheds ,our old next door neighbour had his stuff nicked ,they took the roof off his shed. we all know how much it costs for decent locks and hasps (i mean decent ones that cant be cut),but dont forget the hinges use tamperproof screws (mine go through the existing frame into another made of 2"x2" wood )and make sure the pins cant be knocked out .the doors are double skinned .there are no nails holding my shed together all fixings are 4" screws including the fixing to the floor and roof .the windows are siliconed into the frame with 3 1" bars that run the length of the shed across the windows and wall.and lastly a very noisy alarm (2 for about £8 from argos) are mounted on the door + a very nasty surprise if they try to saw the bars (i was an electronics tech) we all know its bolting the door after the horse has bolted but this is a question of survival no one will help you so protect yourself . camera`s are very cheap some have intruder sensors that sound a buzzer in your house when activated and ofcourse floodlights . there is no real excuse nowadays if you put yourself in the situation that your only defence can be cut off probably a cheap chinese lock bought for a quid in a pound shop on a bent iron hasp. get the largest hasp you can afford then spend £50 on a real padlock .only a disc cutter will open these even the biggest bolt cutters will fail. learn from your loss, next time it wont happen. turn your house into fort knox as well, deadlocks, hinge pins and lock spreaders on the front and back doors ,bolts on the windows etc.it may seem over the top but think when was the last time a copper walked past YOUR door.
  18. maybe a suggestion that the particular lake ?maybe has blue green algae and they should rush the pooch to the vet a.s.a.p should work ,if they come back another day you will still have the thought that they paid for a vets attention next time say its veil`s disease ,after that denge fever ,swamp fever ,berri berri ,trench foot etc etc [ 10. 22. i am a little  about the muzzle velocity of uk air rifles ,didnt it change in the early 60`s to what it is today, i own a pre ww2 air rifle am i breaking the law in owning it? i also used to have a collection of gas guns (air rifles with a methonal?/ether injector) if i still had them would i now be in breach of the law . as for shooting deer with shotguns i used to hang about with a chap with a 12bore ,he used imported boar slugs ,he was a very good shot and dropped them all ,so is it illegal to shoot deer with a shotgun or is it illegal to use shot i also used to help the terrier man at the goshuns? hunt ,i cannot see them banning on the cruelty front as most times they may have chased a fox but rarely caught one ,i think its anti toffs forgetting that most of the people that attend the hunt are lookers on and indistinguisable from you and me [ 10. 23. i wouldnt use a car battery charger on a (if it is )a sealed gel battery it may distort the cells much better to trickle charge it (it should say the charge current on the battery and the time to charge it for)maybe a trip to the local model shop for a remote control car charger would be better remember that a fast charger may not suite the battery slow is good. if the pack is made up of nic cad cells even more care is needed ,it needs properly discharging before charging up again as they have a memory effect [ 09.
