  1. I get what you're saying re the fibres thing now Dave, turned the rug round but it's still moving in the same direction!!
  2. We're talking 4 inch over 2 days away from the hearth edge now!! We find it really quite amusing & puzzling just now.

  4. It's a fake fire (fan heater) which is never on. Next .........
  5. Automatic Kettles were the thin end of the wedge, closely followed by remote control TV!!
  6. We have a heavy, thick rug which we keep snugged up to the edge of base of the hearth but almost every next day, the rug is almost 2 inches away from it. It's been happening for weeks on end. The wife & I have both noticed this phenomenon & are at a loss as to the cause!! The gap is pretty well the same along its length, as though the rug has been pulled away from the hearth & we have no reason to walk over it!! No "Who Ya Gonna Call" jokes please.

  8. I was far too young at the time but I was aware about Graham Hill being killed when his plane crashed. A work colleague, not so many years ago then told me there was a rumour that Hill's plane crashed on the way back from spiriting Lord Lucan out of the country, & that Hill's plane had been sabotaged to cover up the trail. Answers on a post card please.
  9. Charlie would say there are still too many Chinese in China & that the Global plan failed miserably!! And the Chinese government now feel somewhat let down.
  10. Prawns / Shrimps, can be same thing depending upon the Restaurant & Country!! Pilchards & Sardines are the same - It's just a Marketing Ploy. Sardines sound better & sell better!!!

  13. My former workmate had a door type camera which worked with his phone. He became obsessed with it at work & once said - "There's s Guy dressed as a Postman coming up my drive" "Yes Tony - Its the Postman".
  14. There used to be Loach in the Rodley Canal near Leeds, we never fished for them in earnest, but would sometimes dangle a maggot with a bit of line & 22 hook & watch them chasing it under our feet!!

  18. I used to own a tropical fish tank or 2 as a boy & we had a Coolie Loach, which we saw darting around the tank around twice a year!! Then it was conspicuous by its absence for the rest of it!!
  19. I can well remember the closed curtain thing as a boy!! - how things have moved on, with people clapping in the celebration of one's Life (hope I don't get the Clap myself!!)
  20. But the Hotel's Safe Insurance covers it?? (the Hotel normally charges for the loan of the safe for the the extent of one's Holiday!!) The Safe is owned by a different company from the Hotel - Hence the separate charges!!

  22. A few strands of bright red wool whipped/tied on the hook when fishing with worms for Perch works, when twitching & don't retrieve all time - just do a few mini strikes in the same place - wind in 2 or 3 turns & repeat.
