  5. Lichfield, Staffs. We had some heavy snow this afternoon that lasted about 2hrs, roads are like ice rinks. Still love it, off to play with the kids.
  6. You're a bad, bad man Dave.
  7. Cheers guys
  8. I'll admit to being a total computer dummy, so much appreciated Newt for your time and effort. Can we have this type of post pinned? [ 27. January 2004, 03:44 AM: Message edited by: aanthony ]
  9. They can if you remove the caravan.
  10. I think the blind man should ask the mute guy to get the sunglasses for him, he's obviously pretty good at it.
  11. Freedom to have ones own opinions and speak freely, or is that politicaly incorrect.
  12. Too funny folks.
  13. Yippee! Cheers Dave, just need the sun to come out now. Ta mate Ant
  14. Last year my brother bought a house in Handsworth, Birmingham as a business venture. He has a three year contract with a private company to house asylum seekers, the company itself having a contract with the government. For the past few months he has 5 single Iraqi males living in the house and is paid £640 per month for housing them (remember the company he has the contract with must be getting a fair wedge from the government to pay him this amount). There's more...............All bills, heating, water and even the council tax is paid for by the state! The only thing that he pays towards is the buildings insurance on the property. He is doing so well out of the deal that he is considering buying another property in the same street and giving up his regular job! Thinking about it......why are Iraqi's still here seeking asylum, didn't we just fight a war to liberate them from the tyrant they are fleeing? AH, must be red-tape.
  15. Nugg - That's what i'm getting at, there is just to many variables. I bet the figures quoted in the highway code havn't changed in decades, if a car manufacturer brought out a new model with the same stopping power of a 1960's Ford Cortina there would be an outcry, not to mention involvement from Trading Standards etc. It would be nice just to have a touch of credability to some of the arguments some of the time.
  16. Chesters for P.M. I say.
  17. Remember that speed limits were introduced as safe speeds for vehicles of the time, decades ago. Road holding, braking, strength and safety of modern cars is vastly superior to anything on the roads during the early 70's, if 70mph was a safe and reasonable speed for an Austin 10 in '73 surely a safe and reasonable speed for a Ford Mondeo is ??? The same can be said of the "recognized" braking distances quoted by the highway code and portrayed on T.V. comercials. How they can quote a specific stoping distance is totally rediculous and misleading.
  18. Well said Tinca.

  20. I would imagine about £7.50 by parcel force. Any more and i'll pay the difference.
  21. Ziffy - i'm in Lichfield, Staffordshire.
  22. I think Bush's willingness to get out in space and explore is fantastic. The search for the unknown holds great interest for me and so would love to see bases on the moon and the first man on mars, great. Three cheers for Mr. President I say. Mind you, he may be just looking for a new challenge. He's already ****** off most of the people on the planet, so may be just looking for an alien race to wind-up.
