  1. MCN and Autocar have had some interesting articles regarding, government terms , safety cameras. Whilst new camera sites are being added in the thousands around the country, the number of traffic police patroling our roads has dwindled dramaticaly. This has resulted in the easy target motorist being prosecuted for the horrendous crime of doing 45mph in a 40mph limit, while the joy-riders, drunk drivers, non-insured drivers, wreckless drivers and owners of un-roadworthy vehicles drive around in the knowledge that they are unlikely to be "pulled" by a patroling bobby. It's all about how much money the powers that be can screw out of the average motorist, not about safety! Want an example? How about the most lethal 150 mile stretch of tarmac in Britian having only 4 cameras whilst 500 new cameras were erected on the streets of London last year. Take your pick, i'd rather the roads be used by occasional speeders rather than drunk car thiefs with no insurrance.
  2. And here's me thinking i'm offering someone a bargain, so i'll drop the price to £50.
  3. Brand new, unwanted gift. Same type of system as the Nash Profile with the infill panel with roll-up door. Comes supplied with 4 storm poles and attachments. This has never seen the outside world and is in perfect/new condition. I have no idea what these cost new but would imagine well over £100, I will accept £60 plus p&p.

  6. My hard drive kicked the bucket the other day, bought and fitted a new one, but now I keep getting these bloody Messenger Service pop-ups. Anyone tell me how to stop them?

    "poor" cod

Cheers Leon, think I may have caught one in the past.
  8. On my last trip to the coast I fished using my 3lb t/c pike rods rather than my beachcasting rods (with which I used 4oz leads). I found that these were much easier to handle and my casting distances increased by a good 50 yards. Also bite indication was a lot easier to see using my pike rods. Can any of you experienced shore anglers explain why casting rods are so thick and cumbersome? I can understand why they are used whilst rock fishing when it is required to lift the catch to land it but............ Ant [ 02. January 2004, 11:35 PM: Message edited by: aanthony ]

    "poor" cod

I've seen in where-to-fish guides in sea mags the term "poor cod". Now i've always thought this term refered to there being not many cod. BUT.....I have recently seen the term "lots of poor cod at.......". Now I know of cod and I know of codling, but what the hell are poor cod? Ant
  10. Looks great Sam. Is it a new development in alarm technology? Is it the stealth model? I can see a market for these, tackle thiefs are going to have big problems pinching them.
  11. yep, have a good'un everyone.

  17. A minister has admitted that the average asylum seeking family recieves £16,000 a year TAX FREE! Work always dries up for me at this time of year but now I have an idea..........Next year I will take the family on a day trip to Calais, on returning to Dover I will hand a note over to HM customs stating " I can not speak a word of English and am seeking asylum". Yippee, i'll be better off and have plenty of time for fishing.
  18. Thanks Newt, I sent you an e-mail asking what you thought about these a couple of weeks ago, now I have my answer. If I do decide to purchase one i'll be ordering from the US, half the price!
  19. I split the groundbait in to a number of the zip-lock freezer bags, squeeze the air out, and keep them in the freezer until needed. It doesn't take long for it to defrost and will last ages in the freezer. I found that leaving it in the fridge in an air-tight container will only keep it fresh for a week or so before it starts to get mouldy.
