  1. Many of you have got it right, but have forgotten the damage, in part, is already being done. The costs on their own, just to fight the case can be enough to send a small business to the wall. It is often that fear that can lead to an out of court settlement. . . . Then the claiment moves onto the next business. . . . Which is why there have been several 'serial' claiments exposed over the last few years.
  2. Guys You will have seen my last post on this subjest. Hope to anyone who can make it, the address etc is within the previous topic. Be good to see some new faces. Remember there's no cost, no membership cards, no nothing apart from the conversation. All you have to do is buy yourself a drink, OK a slight cost,. . . and make it last all evening if you want to !!
  3. Flagged this post up again as a reminder this months meeting is this coming Thursday. Hope to see you guys there.
  4. Speaking to a mate of mine ( yes I have one ), who works in the city, looking after rather a lot of money for a massive far eastern company ( I won't say who as he uses this forum form time to time ). He say's that given the size of the fraud it could not have been one person, the huge sums would have to be accounted for. So, several people would have known what was going wrong. It's just that one guy is taking the rap. I have to say that would be more likely.
  5. You have to hand it to our'Ken. When the congestion charging came in they switched the phasing of the traffic light s back to 'flow' and the next thing you see our wonderful 'cheeky chappie' spouting on about what a wonderful difference it's made. He failed to mention that in the previous months the phasing had be adjusted over time to slow traffic through major flow routes. There's also the London low emission zone coming in, nightmare for many companies, bags of paperwork and huge expense. The man for the people, the problem is . . your col**r, you have a car, you work, you pay tax's . . your a target.
  6. What does the future hold? One has to be a bit worried when some of the US right want to attack Iran to assist the foretelling in the book of Revelation. You could not make it up.
  7. Nice one Den. Though don't let baby sitting get in the way of your fishing!!
  8. Get yourself a spider. Now that reminds me of a song!
  9. I read a book years ago by some guy, a teacher I think, who spent some time in the Lebanon and discovered some Trout fishing. I'm sure it was off the beaten track. Sorry can't be of any more help.
  10. I have to admit I have this years Weymouth trip planned! Matt driving !!!!!!!!!! Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr The roads around the Medway towns will never be the same again.
  11. Sorry we're not being a lot of help. Ps: Stick of rock . . take care it might have a fuse sticking out of one end!
  12. great story and thanks for the photo's. Loved the Rail. I fish a bird reserve in Sevenoaks, many time I have asked the twichers in their bright garb crashing about as to what they have seen, more often that not . . not much. The silent angler tends to see far more.
  13. I have not read it yet, but I understand our very own Leon is in there somewhere!
  14. Pop across for some Salmon fishing in the Yemen
  15. I'll be great to see you guys. Next meeting . . 5th.
  16. The Mullet are still there, you'r just not allowed to fish for them. Nothing like a summers evening throwing bread to 5 - 8 lb Mullet who brake it up and snuffle it down without a thought, then the odd monster appears and my reel fingers start twiching. Problem is to much security and CCTV so, no matter what the reward I'll wont be trying it.
  17. Coming up from Hampshire Norm??
  18. Dave What was Roger Walters like live? His 'Amused to Death' album is one of my all time fav's. . . quality.
  19. Guys Intrested in Mullet fishing, or just like to meet up with a group of like minded anglers for a chat about your passion Come along to the 'King George V' public house on Thursday ( 3rd Jan ) 1 Prospect Row, Gillingham, ME7 5AL. ( we changed the venue from the Ship & Trades due to the apperarance of live, & rather poor music ) I get there about 8'ish. So why in a pub? Well, apart from having to buy yourself a drink it's free. The MMG has no membership fees, no membership cards, just turn up. Many who attend fish for everything . . . but Mullet! Be good to see a few new faces, hope you can come along . .. see you there.
  20. I grew up reading about Freds angling & countryside antics. Along with the stories about his brother plus other assorted angling friends. Those friends reads like a who's who of angling. I for one am glad he received the award. Well done and well deserved. Should have received the award years ago. There are a few other anglers ( inc one or two who use this forum )who have done a lot for angling together with conservation who also deserve a mention . . perhaps in the birthday honours.
  21. Seen several over the years, none to bad, lucky I guess. Amonst the best Pink Floyd ( Wembly ) ages ago, Pritty Things (LCH Folkstone), Clapton with Andy Fairweatherlow ( Albert Hall - History of the Blues tour ). Just seen Ledz Zepplin - as good as the real thing, poss better. Note / sound purfect. Note to self - don't stand so close to the speakers! These days I seem to see 'local' groups gigging in pubs . . look out in the Weymouth area for "Splinter" just do covers, but wow. There is so much talent out there, you just need to find it. Nothing beats a small venue.
  22. I have used several makes over the last year or so. The worst was made by a German company ( can't remember their name ), the best Tom Tom. You'll find that all makes have problems within central London, the councils change the traffic flow prority, shutting off the end of some streets so you do end up in a dead end now and again. However, since using Sat Nav's our London rep's save 45 mins plus per day.
  23. THats the one. Sorry the link does not want to workOne last try then I'll give up . . AIRBUS EtihadA340Accident.pps
