  1. if iwas gonna go for the record , it would have to be a river bream, not one of those big lake things,a natural big slab of running water bream,a big feeder , loads of bait and an eager eye waiting for the quiver tip to move. Hmmmm, might go now actually.
  2. the only real pest we have here is the notorious signal crayfish which hails from ur country.People farmed them over here and illigally put them into lakes and rivers and they are now killing our native cray fish and gutting fish stocks.
  3. get a plastic box 2ft by 2ft ish a few cabbages and some compost and ur set. They live for weeks, and they get as fat as hell.Keep the lid on though ,with air holes punched thru.
  4. this is normal, its just so you dont need to put lines of shot on yer line,i use number 8s and a heavy bait like a worm etc.
  5. whats the crack with this then?Any1 know anywhere thats holding a match for it?
  6. it was a barbless only venue and my 20 18 16 were barbed
  7. all lakes picking up nicely, red maggot corn and pellet scoring on pole and feeder, island pegs the best, try get there earlt to get your pick of lakes and swims, skylark or kestrel are the best
  8. i went to aycliffe lake for a quick after work session tonite using a light 15ft match rod with 3lb line.Expecting to catch rudd and roach i was very suprised to swing a 5inch barble to hand a few mins in.After an hour i was getting a lot of nudges and was thinking of scaling down a bit to a 16 hook, just then the nudge turned into a lift bite so i hit it,wow, my rod nearly snapped. It just ambled about as if it knew i couldnt pull at it .5 mins later , after taking me through a lot of lillies, its head came up and into the net it went.It weighed in at 4lb 4oz,my best tench yet,all that on 3lb line a size 14 hook and a single red maggot.
  9. if any river is to be stocked with fish then the ea has to be involved to ensure the health of both the fish and the ecosystems present in the river, so as a rule, the ea will stock most rivers, although angling amalgamations will sometimes get approval to do so.
  10. duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude,sweeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!!
  11. might as well knock it up yerself mate, cheap crap threw to gether on a production line.Get a fox match man box for 140,quality kit lasts.
  12. spose its just a question of wether you wanna catch 1 or 2 per day or 1 or 2 hundred a day.I do a bit of both and i cant choose between the 2. Fishing is fishing to me,regardless of the catch
  13. tis abit slow lately, must admit
  14. this is all easing my head, cheers fellas
  15. hi pete, im a pacgb member too, teesside and darlo area.
  16. yup, that bloody argument again. For as much as i would like to believe that fish cant feel pain,ia am sure they must be able to. I am no scientist, and therefor am not trying to contradict any research, but if fish are clever enough to learn how to feed by watching a video(i have seen this in practice) then i am sure that they have some form of nervous system,if they didnt, then how would they prefer different baits etc etc etc.I know its all been said befor, but its just frying my brain at the moment. More importantly, how many people would be bothered if fish can feel pain. If it was made official, with proof, would YOU stop fishing? Its a bit of a bad question ,i know, but its worth asking, dont you think?
  17. temperature is the key,or i am led to believe.Apapently if there is a suuden temp shift(as there has been of late)then a stressed fish will instinctively feed on anything,as the fish are not used to the natural food source , these fish will eat almost anything.
  18. get a 20 quid mini fridge, they do the job in a garage!!!!
  19. this is indeeed true.Thats why a lot of shallow fisheries wont allow groundbait or particle baits.
  20. in winter it will solidify or just attract dirt in the water and come back as a big clump of mud. However,in the summer i have found it to be a killer roach attractant. And it is the mutts nuts in a method mix.
  21. I read a post about a new fishery near your somewhere, campin caravans and a lake etc,can i get some directions please
  22. i just want somewhere private to fish, even a ristricted membership fishery will be ideal. Im just getting a bit tired of crowded bagging pools with 5 meter swims, its a bit restricting.Im not much of a match fisherman so i like to wander if my swim isnt producing the goods.
  23. i am currently searching for a syndicate in the teeside/northeast erea that is taking in members as i am fed up of most of my local waters being taken over by mouthy louts supping lager in bivvies. If there are any in the area could you let me know?
