  1. Rudd, thanks for the info. I appreciate what you say regarding diameters. I just needed an indication of the range of BS. Thanks
  2. Hi Mel. I, like yourself, am a returnee to angling after a lengthy lay-off, and have had a couple of seasons to get back in the swing of it. I found the basics are the same as 'back then', but the range of tackle and gear just blew my mind. I had forgotten just how peaceful and relaxing a day at the bankside could be, with the occasional adrenaline rush when a fish is hooked and landed. There's nothing to beat it when you want to get out and sample Mother Nature with a purpose in mind. With regards to where to fish, I'm on the 'other side' of the river to you in Essex, although I did have a good day out at Elphicks Fishery in Kent see here. Tight Lines......Terry [ 27. 4. Rudd, or anyone, any chance of putting together a chart covering the majority of line diameters to breaking strains. I've just bought, via mail order, some method rigs for the summer and they're tied to 0.18 and 0.20 line. This doesn't mean much to me. I've tried a search, but no luck. Thanks in advance.

  12. Add a Vindaloo and he'll have an afterburner too
  13. Found an interesting piece on the EFTTA website regarding line testing... here Does it mean they're any good though, or that 'they do what it says on the box'?
  14. Were they the soft white chew with green stripes thru them?
  15. How cringe-worthy is this? My first 7" was Puppy Love by Donny Osmond. It was a birthday present for my sister, though !! My first album was Love You Live by The Rolling Stones
  16. Phil, have a look at the Billericay & District AC here . They have about a dozen locations with several lakes, and about three river stretches. I joined last season and found it good value for money, bearing in mind your average commercial charges around £7 a day. Terry

  19. Superb, and yes I did end up singing it in my head.
