Is it a Mkiv carp or Avon? If its a Youngs cane Avon and really only used once and in its proper bag then Its worth about £150. There are quite a lot about but sometimes they fetch a bit more. I have a couple that I use but wouldnt pay more than £100 for it.

Jeepster, If the water is BWs then you do need a licence and proof of you insurance to get it. Dont think that they wont do you if you dont have one because they will. In total it will cost you about £100 or £50 if you only have oars. Yes you can fish certain bits of the Trent from a boat.

Peter, To some its a way of protesting about the commercialisation of angling, and carp puddels, etc, etc. A connection with the past too, when things seemed better even if they were not. Nurse, Its quicker to go straight down the M180 and take the turn off after the one you would take for Scunny and Messingham sands (signed Brigg). Hiblestow is only a couple of miles from the motorway. Messingham has been fishing the same as most holes in the ground overfilled with fish, easy and not my cup of tea really but I do admit to the occasional dangle in moments of weakness.
