  1. ll bomb the peterhead lads, Only if you return the favour and bom the Grimsby liners that are wiping out the last stronghold of spurrdoggs in the Uk in the northwest of scotland... Deal? Seriously though, There are bad commercial lads all around britain, Im sure ,many people would not have appreciated the englash lads who done in luce bays spurrdog population a few years ago, Likewise the same lads who are coming up and ripping up the sea bed scalloping. And if the longlining continues Around mull, it will be devistating. And yes we all know of the so and sos from peterhead. No good will come from pointing the finger at one group. we need to deal with comercials as a group. You may not miss the cod, Thats irrelevant. They like all other species play a vital role in the marine eco system. Unless you are happy catching hundreds of pin whiting and pout...If there where as many cod bout as you used to catch you wouldnt be messing around with whiting and pout session after session.... 2. Stavey, The articles are true, depending on what part of the country your in not trying to rub it in, Even thougbh there getting scarcer and scarser every year, up here in the north east of scotland in the right conditions you can still go out to a favoured mark and preety much expect a few cod with a few decent ones thrown in. Remembering that alot of the cod writers are up here Just cos theres no cod in some parts of the country dont mean the mags should stop printing about them, there alot of mag readers up here too you know I soppose in a way we are lucky up here with all the rough ground, makes it harder for the commercial lads whereas on your local area i bet it mostly clean ground where they could work the whole lot, and probably have, hence the lack of fish Sad state of affairs realy.
