  4. sorry john used my spare arm and leg last weekend at drummore paying the bar bill on sunday night i've heard it's quite expensive and as i'm scottish..... you can guess the rest. last time i was in edinburgh castle it was free, it's about £12 each to get in now....
  5. shhhhh, norrie, big secret.... heard you caught a flattie, any good??
  6. cheers lads, i'm a bit disappointed i couldn't get a bit closer, i was pushed for time as i had to be home for my son's getting home from school. i'm not shy at trying to get in for a better shot, but there was a few of the yellow jacketed guys about and unusually i wasn't in the mood for an argument...lol maybe get a chance for a better shot before it leaves
  7. when i was in ireland about 15 years ago there were some hire boats, orkney 19's with 15 horse diesel outboards on them, can't remember the brand. the guys who were using them complained that they were slow, noisy, a lot of vibration and everything on the boat was covered in a thin layer of diesel possibly from the exhaust. you could certainly hear them coming from quite a way away, took them over an hour sailing to get to where we got to on our planing hulled boats in 15 minutes
  8. due to the stinking weather and wind, not much deckspace for fishing though http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/edinbu...ast/7005040.stm saw this boat on the local news this morning and as i was heading down in that general direction took my trusty canon with me. once i got there i couldn't get very close so i used my 55-200mm lens, but had to shoot through a wire fence and the holes in the fence were too close to poke the lens through, so the blurry bits are fence wire you can see the "brittannia" in the background as well by the time i worked out how to get closer albeit with the risk of being ejected by the dudes in the flouro coats i had run out of time and had to bolt.... crap pics, but the best i could do in the circumstances
