  1. Virgin@£14.99. Free modem + 2 ADSL filters. Paying for 500KBS but getting 2.2MBS. No problems.
  2. The thing is probably a long finned eel imported from New Zealand for food, bought at Billingsgate and illegally introduced to the lake to stir up a media frenzy over the no-publisity clause and get a few select souls to pay thousands for the privilige of tryingto catch it. Now. That's sour grapes
  3. This will please several peoplt on here. http://www.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,3000...1197051,00.html
  4. It's hard to beat the Shimano Calcutta's. That said, using a multipier, I'd find it hard to get near the to the range that can be achieved with a fixed spool setup - especially casting into the wind.
  5. Yuk ! The worst they ever did to me whilst drunk and unresponsive was to shave off an eyebrow, paint my nose with red nail-varnish and then undo all of my clothing, isert a 150kg set of dumbells and then do it all up again. When I woke up with a hangover and busting for a pee, I thought I'd been nailed to the floor. The worst I've ever seen done was a mate who fell asleep fully clothed on a bed. They removed his trousers and pants, smeared vaseline on his ar5e and then used a pencil to push a condom filled with Oil of Ulay into his backside. They then pushed his pants under the bed and covered him with a blanket. He didn't say a word to anyone when he got up to leave in the morning ! [ 26. 6. Ahh, but if you got rid of cats, what would you hang in trees to feed up that chub swim you were thinking of fishing in a couple of weeks ?
  7. Too true. WMP displays an image with a ratio of 4:3. Fro that clip, it really needs to be widescreen.....
  8. Are we talking about a regional name here ? To the best of my knowledge the "Glow Worm" (actually an insect) is the only bioluminescent beastie likely to be seen in the UK and we don't have any fireflys. I agree that Glow Worms are in serious decline but they are flightless and only ever seen glowing on the ground or on bushes. Fireflys are common in Asia and parts of the US and flash theirbioluminescent organs whilst on the wing.
  9. That's why I'd rather pay a couple of quid over the ods to get stuff like hard disc drives from PC World than buy 'en cheap off the net and have them kicked to bits befor they reach me.
  10. Until a few years ago, my dad would walk his dog around the local park and would carry a bulk spool of cheap 4lb mono, a couple of floats (usually ones that I'd fished out of trees whilst lure fishing), a box of shot and some tied hooks in his pockets. He'd natter with the guys who were fishing and would regularly ask the local kids how they were getting on. If they were doing no good, he'd see if they wanted any help and advice. Obviously some said no, but if they asked for help, he'd often end up re-spooling reels, setting them up, plumbing the depth and getting them stuck into what was often their first ever fish. Sadley after watching the media slowly wind itself into a frenzy about paedo's preying on kids, he decided to knock the whole thing on the head in case some over anxious parent or passer by got the wrong idea about an old bloke who's now to disabled to carry his fishing kit any distance helping a few kids.
  11. In many ways, I'm a little to the right of Attila the Hun but it's always fun to play with an argument.
  12. On the way out of the room, the maid stopped her and said "You know, I have an IQ of 176 but I never attended college because I was raped when I was 16, I fell pregnant as a result and couldn't terminate my pregnancy because the Republicans had closed down the only abortion clinic in town. The only way I could raise my little girl was to attend a workfare program that kept me away from school and away away from my baby for 11 hours a day". I finally got off the program when I started to work for your daddy but I should be doing so much more with my life. The young lady changed her politics twice that day. [ 25. 13. To the best of my knowledge, neither Kate Moss nor Pete Doherty have ever been arrested or prosecuted by the police despite flaunting their habits in the gutter press. We seem to have a crazy situation where drugs are illegal but good looking talented people with their faces splashed all over the global media appear to use then regularly without any obvious negative affects on their freedom, their career's, looks or their huge earnings. Trying to tell kids not to take drugs against a backdrop of high earning drug taking role models and personal experiences that tell peple that far from ruining your life, most people laugh their ar5es off whilst taking drugs is a total waste of time. I think we need to seriously reapraise drug policies in this country and either go down Sportsman's route or start sticking video cameras in the changing rooms of fashion shows, pop concerts like the Brits and some fashionable bars and dragging sone "celbs" into the courts. Personally I'd be inclined to go with the second option. Sportsman makes no mention of whether their was an increase in admissions to mental hospitals in the trial area but I bet their was and I deal with enough people suffering with drug induced psychosis to be wary of his suggestion. A bit of a celebrety cull probably won't change much in the short term but it'd certanly tarnish the glanour of drug taking and may pay bigger dividends over the longer term. Rant over.
  14. Hi and welcome. I've played with baby Mahseer and snakeheads on lures but the secion of river that I was fishing was heavily targeted by the guys with nets. I did see a couple of big fish moving but they were in a big snaggy slack and I suspect they were cats. I've had more success on the coast with India's Barramundi and have managed a few GT's and grouper/cod as well. Should be back over their in about six weeks for another session on the Goa/Maharashtra boarder. [ 24. September 2005, 09:22 PM: Message edited by: Ken L ]
  15. What about all the poor insects, moles, worms etc that are poisoned or chopped up and ploughed into the ground to grow the grain to make that cruelty free piece of breadflake ? Short of becomming one of those fruit and nuts (picked without killing the plant) nutters, there is simply no way of producing food or bait without killing something. As for the livebaiting issue, it's been done to death but getting ar5ey about someone using livebaits is a bit rich when the singular aim of fishing is to stick sharp metal objects (hooks)into harmless aquatic animals and drag them (albeit with great care) from the water for sport.
  16. The Aussies usually sink them and turn them into artificial reefs for recriational fishing. Maybe we should drop a few where the frenchies do their pair trawling.

I make no excuses for dragging this one back to the top. I've just discovered that the trade association for Dr's that do breast implants is called BAAPS. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/4271028.stm
  18. Hold on, you can't have three in a bed sex with five people. What are yu on ?
  19. If the phone is turned on and your SIM card is in it, it can be traced to within a few metres - they don't even have to make a call. Probably to late now though, They'll have had your SIM's ripped out, been unlocked by some dodgy high stret phone shop ans had cheap PAYG SIM's dropped in by now. I keep meaning to get the footplates of my reals engraved with my name and post code but never have. After reading this, I just might make the effort.
  20. From what I've heared, they'd have done better with that "Stars in the their eyes" bloke. I don't know anyone who actually likes anything that been done by "Queen + Paul Rogers".
  21. Nobody ever got fat through snorting coke. That's why it's the drug of choice in an industry where thin is king. Most models are on an endless spiral of gigs and parties and if they were to drink even moderatly, they'd soon put on enough weight to start losing jobs. It's use is incredibly widespread throughout the entertainment industry as well as among the very hacks that are currently baying for Kate Moss's blood. Kate Moss happens to have been singled out as the latest victim of the hypercrical media feeding frenzy because of her relationship with Pete Docherty who they decided to chew up and spit out before he even got chance to establish himself as an artist. I wouldn't be in any way suprised if the decision to drop her from several high profile add campaigns was made over a couple of lines in the executive washrooms of the major fashion houses. So who is to blame for her predicament ? Well, ultimatly, she forges her own path through life and takes responsibility for her own choices but who insists that skinny girls are attractive ? who buys magazines that do nothing but peddle gossip ? and who would not there head in agreement if they read a headline saying that Kate Moss had let herself go after putting on 6lbs ? That would be the great British public.
  22. Not played with it that much but it is great fun. I did manage to find a huge crater that I originally spotted out of a plane window but didn't flag the thing and I can't find it anymore...
