  2. A list of winter meetings for 2002/3 is now available for viewing on the Cambridge PAC page on the Ely/Fenland website http://www.elyfenlandpac.co.uk Speakers, Dates, Venue and times are all listed. All members and non members welcome. Colin
  3. Funny that Elton, cos I have 4 sites running and although they may not be very exciting [no bells and whistles], they were all created with Frontpage as well. So I certainly don't have a problem with it!! Microsoft or not!! Colin
  4. Hi Greg, Fry patterns such as Deerhair fry and Minkies also plastazote fry. Drys should still be working, plus all the usuals GRHE, Diawl Bach, Pheasent Tails etc. Obvious places would be Tim Appletons, Generator, Dickensons, Barn Hill Creek, Armley Wood no wading area to Carrot Creek, Whitwell, Barnsdale, Sykes Lane, Stockie Bay, East Creek, Sailing Club, Berrybutts, Green Bank, Yellowstone to Inmans spinney. The secret is perhaps to be very mobile. Try the Floating Fry near to weedbeds, if not response in 30 minutes consider a move. Good Luck, Colin
  5. Why bother with software! Buy her one of those new fangled Satelite thingys that tell you the way. Colin
  6. WHY??????????????????????????????????? Colin
  7. Could be the site doesn't like IE6!I have been having loads of problems getting certain pages to load, but keep getting error messages. I have done a clean install of Win 98SE, I have tried Norton Windoctor, I have tried repairing IE6 but to no avail, so I have just unistalled IE6 and "voila" I am now able to load those unobtainable pages. Early days yet to say it has cured everything but at least I can see how much I owe on my credit card [not a pretty sight]. Hope this helps, Colin PS I have even managed to preview this post! Whoopee!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. A true story from 1993? It's taken a long while to travel this far?? Regarding the buzzer pattern, how did you fish it? You may have fished it to fast or there again you might have fished it to slow? On the other hand you could have fished it much faster than at first, but perhaps if you had fished it a little bit faster than fishing it to slow that might have worked. Of course you could have fished it too high or there again too deep. Who knows??? Who cares?? after all it was in 1993!! Perhaps the anchor was trown around in high spirits, or perhaps the guy who witnessed it was drunk, perhaps the England team were all drunk, perhaps the anchor has a life of it's own. Perhaps it's ****** off with being trown in all the time?? Who cares?? it was in 1993! Colin. PS Did you know Charles Jardine used to play in a PUNK ROCK band? Perhaps he's really Canadian, just like the Pink Floyd [i seem to remember going to school with Dave Gilmour in Cambridge??]or was that list of British rock stars and bands a Canadian Joke?
  9. Peter, what exactly would you like the PAC or other clubs to do for you? Or judging by the number of posts you make on various forums, perhaps I should be asking what can you do for the PAC? Please don't think I am getting at you, but I do believe you should be involved in the PAC either at local or regional level. Who knows perhaps you could help form the next committee?? Colin
  10. It now seems this change is not going going through. It seems there was only one person who was challenging the use of this badge. So how they got in the police force puzzles me, as to join you have to swear allegiance to the Queen [Crown]. Colin
  11. How about Stow-cum-Quy near Cambridge [bridge over the Cam] or Happisburgh [Hayes borough] and Wymondham [Windham]in Norfolk, even Pidley in Cambridgeshire. All good for a guffaw or two!! Colin
  12. Can't say I "hate" any particular car, but I can't understand how anyone could be seen dead in one of those "Multiplas" things! Colin
  13. Can anyone reccommend a casting instructor in Devon please? Colin
  14. I am thinking about a new motor, anyone know a good reliable [and cheap] importer? I am thinking about the Nissan X-Trail 2.2 D Sport. I have done the search engine journey, but just incase I have missed something!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Colin
  15. Phone, there is no such time as midnight, just to confuse you further. 2359 or 0001. If you have the midddle watch it is from 2359 to 0400 but you always turn up at least 5 minutes earlier so you can "turn over the watch" to the person going off watch. Hope this helps you to sleep Alan(nl) ps, Noon is half way between the fornoon as in before noon and afternoon, it works the same way with midnight as in middle of the night etc yawn. That's sorted that then!!Colin
  16. Two friends of mine, came up with the idea of the "Theoben" air rifle, they went to a PatentAgent who advised and helped get the idea patented and then also provided [or helped set up] the finance to get the idea off the ground. Result was one of those rare success stories. To find out more email Theoben products. [www.theoben.co.uk] I think.Colin
  17. Oh, come on Ray! They were carp anglers!Colin
  18. Which pub Chris? In Louisburgh or Westport? I think you must mean either Charlie Gaffney in L or Vinnie Keogh at the Helm on Westport Quay. One of the best laughs we've had lately was watching Vinnie serving his lady customers [the Letch]. Colin
  19. Anyone know the email address of the company that was at the PAC event a couple of years back? Colin

  21. I just tried ME and gave up after 24hrs. Gone back to W98SE & the vast majority of problems have disappeared. I think the net as a whole is having problems or it could be the ISP. Have you loaded any other new software eg Zonealarm, Norton etc? If so you may have the settings to high. Not an expert!!! Colin Just tried to preview this posting and guess what? Nothing! I have uninstalled IE6 to previous version and then reinstalled IE6 again. So let's try the preview post againColin Still no good??

  23. In the aftermath of the Wexford tradedy, I hope that responsible anglers will now make sure that others less responsible and with an image problem do wear them. On a recent trip to Ireland, I arranged a shore trip with a friend, who brought along his 10 year old son. The lad refused to wear a lifejacket saying he could swim OK, but he put it on when I put mine on. Perhaps he thought I had some sort of image? Wear them even on the bank!! Colin
  24. For anyone interested have a look at Cranfield's efforts on my behalf: http://www.louisbutgh-mayo.com Angling/Sea Angling. Excellent piece of work that has helped a lot Many thanks, Colin
  25. Cranfield, As you obviously know your way around Clew Bay, would you consider a little write up for me to use on my website? Have a look at http://www.louisburgh-mayo.com and the Angling page. It needs more imput and I just don't have the sea angling experience to improve it. Let me know what you think. I would add that the site is not a money making venture, purely a labour of love. Colin
