Worm is gonna be a killer bait, as well as other naturals, as they'll be used too them. Would imagine the "something big" to be a pike feeding on roach??? A spinner may be a good bet if there's jack's in there too. Look forward to hearing some results

Well done all. I remember my 1st carp, a 7lber, although it was foulhooked, took 15 minutes to bring in on 3.5lb line. My first proper hooked carp was a 5lber on good old lobworm

Looks a nice fish. What bait did you catch that on, and did you get anything else during the trip? Well done

I use either size 6 or 8 hooks, but never use boilies bigger than 18mm, and seem to lose 1 in 4 fish, which I guess isn't TOO bad a ratio

Anthony's right, most boilies should last for hours and hours, but if I'm not getting anything, I'll normally re-cast every 2 or 3 hours, for a fresh bait
