Chubby Brown walks off stage....

As the title says..................................... and i'm in between with this one.

Being a follower of the comedian for quite a few years now , anyone who has ever been to one of his shows will know just how blue and close to the bone he really is. But , if he's your cup of tea , which he sure is for me , then you enjoy he act and (for me) agree with most of his gags.

What puzzles me is the jeering he received from the audience. Before everyone piles in on me , it CLEARLY states in big letters above the door and on all the processes of purchasing a ticket to see the man that "if you're easily offended , please keep away". Chosing to barrack the man , after all the warnings of offensive language AND material he uses doesn't quite cut it with me.

On the other hand , i would hazard a guess that a fair proportion / majority of the crowd enjoyed it and wanted him to carry on, so him walking off wouldn't have gone down too well with the true punters who paid money to see him , warts and all.

Could it be a publicity stunt to boost his new (annual ) DVD , hhmmmmmmm.

Fishing is fishing , Life is life , but life wouldn't be very enjoyable without fishing................ Mr M 12:03 / 19-3-2009

Guest Brumagem Phil

The guy is little more than an obscene fat tw*t much like Bernard Manning was. Fair do's though, they make people laugh so each to their own and i've had a chortle at both of them in the past so i'm not going to lambast them unduly. They do however seem to think that being a comedian allows them carte blanche to say what they want about whatever subject they want..........sorry chubby, but just like billy Conoley and his sick jibes about ken Bigley's imminet demise at the time, you are out of line and should have the backbone to admit it when your paying audience tell you so.

One nil to Glasgow
As comics like Lex Mclean, Stanley Baxter, Harry Lauder and many more great Scots comedians would testify can be a notoriously difficult gig to pull off at times.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

Hmm, Not really, I cant recall them getting barracked off any stage in Glasgow..I saw Lex, and Stanley both getting standing ovations in the Alhambra Theatre in Glasgow, many moons ago.....Also saw Hector Nichol too, superb stuff....The thing is, Glaswegians ( Weegies) just wont accept any old rubbish, just ask Mr Smeaton!!!!! .which Chubby Brown certainly is!!!!

i saw chubby at the playhouse in edinburgh last year, and i have to admit he wasn't very funny, he just seemed to be going through the motions...

i had 90% of the jokes he told by text message in the couple of months before i went....

he was funny 10 years ago....

i think he's well past his sell by date now.... <_<

Unbearable, isn't it? The suffering of strangers, the agony of friends. There is a secret song at the center of the world, and its sound is like razors through flesh.

perhaps the warning over the door made the audience expect a blue show but were very disapointed

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!
