The biggest cod from the beach(Portland end), that Weymouth Angling Centre have heard of, this Autumn is 16lb but, most are 2-3 lb.

 

Just been over to have a look at the beach at the Portland end. The wind is a lot stronger than the weather websites suggest but it is fishable. The main problem will be the acres old weed and debris, that the undertow will not allow ashore, floating just beyond the breakers.

The shallower water at the other end of the beach will mean a long leader and a strong hook snood might be necessary
