Anglers' Cameras

Vagabond

Recommended Posts

About six years ago I asked the advice of this forum on choice of a small digital camera for anglers.

I got some excellent advice, from Steve Burke and others, and on the strength of it purchased a Canon A80, which proved an admirable choice.

It has travelled the world since then, and has provided quite a few pics for this forum.

However, it has recently begun playing up - still working, but ominous signs, so it is time to think about a replacement.

The A80 is probably no longer available, (if it is, I will get another) so would like your thoughts on what is a suitable alternative.

The main factor is that it should not be heavy or cumbersome, but should be as versatile as possible.

What are you using at the moment?

Well yes, but they will be of similar age to mine and most likely with similar incipient problems. (Which maybe is why the owners wish to sell)

I should have made it clear I intended to purchase new. Secondhand cameras are non-starters as far as I am concerned.

I'm looking at the A580 at the moment, seems the nearest I can get to the A80

A camara in this condition, complete with box papers, cables (still in the bag) has probably seen

little action

a80 on ebay

and you get two memory cards.

I still use a 6 year old Fuji M603 takes great pictures and has been on every fishing

trip with me beach, boat in all conditions and around the world. Like it soo much i've got two more off of ebay.
