Ronnie Barker is dead!

Sad news. :( He was one of the greatest comic actors of his time, and a brilliant writer. Who can forget skits like "Fork Handles"!

His favourite charactor was Arkwright in "Open All Hours", but mine was Fletcher in "Porridge".

A comical great that will be un-replaceable. For me it was Fletcher in Porriage also or A-A-A-Arkwright in Open All Hours ... I cant decide - classic television, the dribble we get nowadays does not come anywhere near that quality.

A comedy genius. Just finished reading the authorised biography too, he will be missed by many.

RIP Ronnie

An already awful day just got a whole lot worse.

My favourite Ronnie Barker characters were without doubt, Fletcher from Porridge

'Born free....Until someone caught me!' and the tv presenter who ran a support group for 'pissmronounciation'. The former was simply a character we could emote with, and the latter just a piece of linguistic genius. And I use the word genius in its literal sense.

This is a signature, there are many signatures like it but this one is mine

He'll be greatly missed.

Fletcher was Ronnie at his best.

A master comic who wrote many of the sketches for the 'Two Ronnies' though the production team did not know it at the time.
