Lockerbie Bomber Freed

The 'investigation' section of the Lockerbie article on Wikipedia is worth a read just for starters.

Here

Ditto the Megrahi article itself.

Here

Among many points, they didn't test the recovered fragment of the timer device for explosives residue? Oops. 'for budgetary reasons' ? Double-oops. How expensive could that be?

Now none of this will see the light of day in court, as the appeal has been dropped.

Suffice to say that if a Brit were banged up somewhere in the world, for a similar crime and on the strength of this kind of evidence, we'd all be screaming blue murder.

Bleeding heart liberal pinko, with bacon on top.

Maybe, but he wasn't freed on the strength, or otherwise, of his conviction. He was freed under 'compassionate grounds'.

Is there anywhere in the world an actual convicted mass-murderer of greater magnitude in captivity? There can't be many.

He was found guilty, sentenced.

He had lodged an appeal against his sentance, the point you raised would certainly been tested back in court, however he decided to drop his appeal. So he has now forgone his right to have his conviction overturned and to be freed innocent of the crime.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

How right you are Elton. At times I think that the government is trying to score brownie points with the terrorists. Not only do they give them time off their sentences, they welcome them into the country and swamp them with benefits!

I remember how I felt at hearing that the Pan Am flight had gone down...... quite apart from the lives lost, it tolled the death knell for thousands of jobs as it brought bankruptcy to the airline.

The whole investigation was a sad indictment of the legal system and politics in the way al-megrahi was 'tried' - it wa scandalous.

That said, he has fundamentally admitted his guilt, and should have died behind the bars of a British jail.

This is a signature, there are many signatures like it but this one is mine

I can't find a single reference to him admitting his guilt. Perhaps you mean it's implied by dropping the appeal? But I'd bet a good amount that that is part of a behind-the-scenes deal connected to this release.

Whether he dies here or there doesn't make a great deal of difference.

There is a good chance that information produced during the appeal would have proved to be embarrassing in the extreme and for that reason deals were done.

"you drop the appeal and we'll get you home" sort of style.

I am less interested in vengeance and more interested in the truth, now it seems that we are to be conveniently denied that.

If it meant anything at all the hearing should go ahead in his absence, but not much chance of that.

I wonder, could this have anything to do with it?

Pedro Lopez except he was released from prison in 1998 after spending 16 years in an Equadorian prison and 3 in a Columbian hospital, his current whereabouts are unknown.
