Removing a file.

In my Programs/Common Files I have a file named Installshield that I wish to remove (this whole uninvited programme is worse than Norton to get rid of).

When I try to delete the file I get the message, "Cannot delete issch.exe. Access denied make sure the disk in not full, or write protected etc...."

Any simple suggestions how to get rid of this , please ?

Sorry to cloud the issue, do you know if this uninvited download is some form of virus protection, does it indeed show some form of sheild? I use a paid for norton software and because i'm with aol, there are compatability issues with the two companies. This means that i have a small window for 'cr@p' to get in, however all the software informs me that i have total protection. The only reason i had norton was that it was pre-loaded and when the period run out i paid for renewall without realising that there is issues between them and aol.

I had to wipe aol from me computer and reload, to get rid of a virus, Norton confirmed that my computer had been infected and wanted 70 quid to 'clean it up'. As they were party to the mess, i objected strongly and told them when i am due for renewall, they can go and hang. I have also sent norton a heavy complaint e mail, as well as telling them i will not recommend them any one in the future. Aol are just as bad.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Installshield is a misnomer for an updating software programme that either comes with the PC or invites itself on to your PC.

It does not show in the Add/Remove programme list, which is why you have to go look for it.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will give them a try.

As Chesters1 say! the wife keeps downloading items which are still active in the background and the ONLY way to get shot is to use safe mode!

While AOHELL and Norton are both as bad as each other at least one CAN get shot of AOL!!!

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

MoveOnBoot will certainly delete it but the next time you want to install any program that uses the Installshield, it will be back.

Is it causing problems?

Just to echo what Newt asked, why do you want to remove it? What problems is it causing? Installshield is a piece of software that installs and removes OTHER software. It won't show up in your Add/Remove programs because unless you but the full developer version (which is mega expensive) it does not actually install itself. if you do succeed in removing this file you may find that you cannot uninstall any more software afterwards

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

Installshield is not a 'misnomer' for anything. It's a piece of software that developers use to install their software packages. Chances are that every time you install or remove an item of software you are running Installshield. If you delete this you might really screw your PC up and may not be able to remove anything in your Add/Remove programs list. Edited by corydoras
