Flooding in Luton

Irrespective of what the caption says, Luton didn't flood on the 17th October. That kind of flooding would have been reported. The photo may have been submitted on the 17th October but the last time that there was severe flooding in the area was April 2000.

Lutton is 200 feet above sea level and has a population of about 200. That place looks like a population of 1000s. Besides the map of Lutton shows no waterways running through.

To add to the confusion there are also Lutons in Devon and Kent and Luttons in Lincs, Northants and Devon - none would appear to be the above however - just wondering if it's somewhere on the Severn....

The houses could well be Luton, but on reflection, even taking into account the flooding, I dont think the Lea is navigable that close to Luton.

Canal boats, and lack of hills suggests Northants, maybe, Fens or the Midlands generally.

Don't reckon it was taken in October either, judging by the trees, long shadows and the covers on the boats.

The only boats you would get on the Lee in Luton would be model ones.

I found three places named Lutton and there are rivers fairly close by to each but i dont know the areas.

just one more cast then I'am off home
