Roving Bag/Rucksack?

Thanks for the replies all.

I think Tigger's belt looks great for a tenner all in so that's got to be worth a look. The problem with a big rucksack is that a lot of the banks where I fish are wire fenced (barbed on top) with styles to get to the swims. I didn't realise how big 40 litres was until it was on someone's back, think I need something smaller.

I did ok, I'd earmarked a tiny stream no more than two foot wide in places to dangle lobs, it just looked so Perchy. With a little divine intervention I managed to be in the right spot just before first light. No monsters but a first cast 1lb 5oz and then another six throughout the day gradually getting smaller. Within 10 yards I could alternate between the Perch swim and a long trot for Chub (which only produced a chublet) so I did that all day swapping from one to the other, great fun.

Lol there is a god after all eh? well done on the Stripey`s Chris ,I spent the day in the boat with a mate on the Thames and struggled badly ,tried several spots for no return then the heavens opened so we rushed to shelter under the nearby bridge to have a cup of Tea and decided to throw the deabait rods out as we sheltered there and as i set the baitrunner after casting out the first rod it was away big style well made me jump .

One little jack was the result and we stayed there for the rest of the day in the dry catching nowt hey hoh Steve.

I use a Korum bait and bits bag, the large size (see on this page: http://www.korum.co.uk/luggage.php). It is not waterproof - it doesn't even have a sealable top. But the fact it's always open is great for quick and easy access. If it rains, I just put it somewhere sheltered. It suits me very well, but may not be what you're looking for.

(PS nice photo :D )

Oh My GAWD!!!

Well done on breaking your duck on this venue - just downstream of where you were is a known chub hotspot (need to fish it from the other bank though!)

Thanks Chris (and for the help), I was hoping that the third trip in as many weeks wouldn't be another blank.

Timsbury this Sunday, in anticipation of a long wet day and getting home late I've taken Monday off so I'll be trying some of the more managable shorter river stretches (if my bag's dried out).

My current batch of bags i use for roving

DSCF1613.jpg

in the early days though it was carrier bags i used ,then i started using those heavy duty work haversacks in conjunction with a tiny little folding criss-cross stool thingy

WEB-37-SMALL-PAK.jpg

then there was the flight / vanity bags that where great but a tad bulky ,one for coarse fishing ,one for barbel

DSCF1613-1.jpg

in reasent years i've been using this little bag / purse thingy ,as it fits nicely under my coat so stays as dry as i do ,and carries everything nearly that i need

d6f0d9cb-4a7e-420e-9f03-9de68b14033.jpg

fully loaded with two clam shell boxs ,one for weights ,one for verious connectors for ledgering etc ,hoos in packets ,loose hooks in magnetic box ,verious tools and a few floats (chubba's) if needed .and it can be used with either the belt clip or straps

DSCF1616.jpg

but i've recently got hold of these bags ,(on offer £3.99) from garage with fuel ,they make great fishing bags loads of little pockets and a deceptivley large inner compartment and it should still fit under me coat ,i've made one bag up for me nephew and if i find time ,i'll do the other one for me.and move all my bits over too it and my float case and still have room for a centrepin inside

i usually these days take a folding stool with a cooler bag under the seat ,i sometimes use the bag for the items i cant fit in me little bag ,or just stick me marsbars and coke bottles in there with a couple of cobs.

and a esp bait belt and folding net finishes the set up
