I have never eaten pot noodle in my life and because I could only answer part of the pole it would not let me vote...unfair to Toads

Sod Pot Noodles...I like to feed my fellow anglers with a proper beef stew! When winter fishing, I usually make a huge batch to take up to my local lake and then reheat it in the cabin and serve as required. I even provide a bankside delivery service...I do have to neglect my fishing to give the stew a stir, but I like to think of it as time for them to catch up...

If they ask nicely, they also get to sample my dumplings...

Make of that what you will!

Urgh I dunno how anyone can eat that muck - even when stinking drunk I couldn't force a pot noodle down my throat!

I much prefer a nice soup if I need a "warm-up" while fishing, and would take a flask of Oxtail or Minestrone over a plastic tub full of something that looks like someone has already eaten it once everytime!

P.S. why do we not have a Vomiting smiley ?

Reading the reactions to even the mention of "pot noodles" of the more discriminating I think it fortunate I have never encountered one in the flesh, so to speak. Indeed, I had heard the phrase "pot noodles on the bank" but thought it was an oblique reference to weed-smoking carpers :)

If we take the campervan to a fishing spot, Norma provides a three-meals-a-day bankside catering service, in between her bird-watching activities.

I usually get up early, spend the day fishing, and have a fried breakfast (including black pudding, Mr Plumb. I always mean to try it for tench, but it never gets that far) brought to my swim about 8 am, a cold collation arrives at midday, and dinner is served at about 7 pm. Dinner can be anything from Venison Stew to Duck l'Orange - all home-made, and served with the appropriate beverage.

Someone should tell Steve about pot noodles, I remember him extending his fishing session at Wingham to the point where he ran out of food and was reduced to eating his bait! Fortunately it was tinned sweetcorn rather than fishmeal boilies B) We saved him from starvation with a portion of our Chicken Dupiaza.

Or as Viz calls them, Not Foodles.

There are some Thai-style ones I get in Sainsbury's (can't remember their name) that come in a square little cardboard box thingie - those ones are actually rather nice. Good to have around for quick, hot 'food' emergencies.

My main 'proper' food on long sessions is real pasta with a decent sauce. Nice and easy to make, tasty, filling, and warms you up, especially with a glass or two of red wine :)

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

I’ve got to stop visiting this site so often, so far it’s been responsible for the cost of 2 Harrison rods, a number of centrepins (one rather expensive one) but worst of all I bought a beef & tomato Pot Noodle last night. Not sure whether to have it for breakfast or lunch today, lunch will mean having to choose an appropriate wine so I might scoff it shortly.

It's never a 'six', let's put it back

Small point , How can you have a favourite flavour if you dont ever eat the things and would prefer to eat the dirt on the bank, probably more nutricious anyway.

I've never eaten a pot noodle, (and never will knowingly).

The poll won't seem to allow me to vote without choosing a flavour.

There needs to be another option which I was looking for of:

"No, but what a great idea! I will now!"

Cheers,

Stu...

Ooops , sorry guys, I did not know that you would be forced to answer both questions.

Stu, you may be at the start of a slippery slope, are you sure you want to try one :D
