Recommended Posts

Workers at Hardy and Greys, based in Alnwick, have been developing the carbon composite for 12 months.

Sintrix – silica nano matrix – will allow Hardy’s to manufacture rods that are 60% stronger and up to 30% lighter than any others in the market place.

Hmm maybe it will prevent their rods from snapping as my prodigy did while walking through a cornfield. I slight push against a corn stalk by accident and poof. Broken rod. That was a happy day

The Alnwick operation, which has composite engineers on site, already has a contract to supply tube technology to the Ministry of Defence.

Applications include tank aerials, rocket motors, anti-tank missiles and protection for armoured vehicles.

Sounds like tank aerial rods are making a comeback.

Why they go through the arduous development process is beyond me!!

I'm currently working on a compound involving feathers and Helium.

Can't say too much more at present, but watch this space.(Or don't).

Beat me to it. I don't care how good the reviews get, I'm never buying their tat again.

They made a Ratners grade eror when they gave up thir prestige reputation to import junk from China.

My Hardys rod and centrepin reel have been fantastic as has been the customer service. Expensive but worth the wonga.

Everyone is always so cynical on this board... :(

Well I for one think their products are great.

TT I think you will find people are refering to the over priced crap from Greys that sadly Hardy is now assosiated with.

No worse than much of the other stuff now made in China...........................just that they have the neck to sell it at near "Hardy" prices just because of the assosiation. Biggest insult to any knowledgable tackle buyers intelligence is their "Life Time Warranty" easy done when your over charging so much!

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

I found it comical when I emailed them to find out my so called guarentee, after paying out of my nether regions, actually cost me £40 for a replacement section. Not much of a guarentee really for a sub par build quality. Excellent to use but not very robust. And they wanted the old one back. Sod that. I stripped it of the eyes for replacements and am waiting for a decent replacement to come along. Very unlikely that it will be another greys though!
