I was just re-reading Rich's catch report from 2007 - my god he fished well. Simply amazing, I'm so glad I was there to witness it!

 

I've just read it again as well. I'd forgotten just how many fish he had!

 

Bream of 16-04 & 15-11, plus 17 tench best two 9-04 & 9-01, plus an eel. In fact PBs of all three species on a water he'd never even seen before!

 

So many first-timers do well at Wingham, but this was definitely the best ever Fish-In catch even if it wasn't the biggest tench haul.

I hope to come down whether I'm fishing or not, and given the interest so far I think I probably won't be fishing! But that's OK, I can be on hand to help with weighing and photographing all the 9lb tench and 15lb bream...and also be first in line for Peggy's BBQ :D

 

Oops, forgot the 3lb perch!

 

Hopefully the rest of this winter will stay mild, and the fish will be extra-enormous :)

Would it be ok to come down for the saturday and sunday if I got a place? With my honeymoon being this year I cant spare the holidays to take the monday off and it would also give someone else the chance (Anderoo ;) ) to fish in my place on the monday if I were to be accepted to come. I am dying to come down and fish Wingham so fingers crossed I can go. Plus it would be great to meet some of the AN members down south.

Hi ATS - Steve just gave me a call as he's just moved house and is waiting for his broadband to be connected and so can't reply (his connection is about good enough to view the forum). He said yes, that's fine :)
