Budget baitrunner reels?

My only baitrunner is a big fat Mitchell MD60. OK for heavyweight work but it really seems too big + heavy for the kind of rods you'd want to use for modest carp and bream etc.

Any recommendations?

Around the 40 squid mark would be quite extravagant by my cheapo standards, but all advice gratefuly received

cheers

I just bought myself a Red Wolf (ABU) runner at Coventry tacklefest, I paid the princely sum of £25 for it!! I have also got some runners coming in myself (I hope!!) In next couple of months!! I have just finished the final checks on them and will be contacting the company Monday. They will be retailing at around £25/35 quid apiece and have 8 bearings and two spare spools, Main spool is Alloy. But the Red Wolf also comes spooled with Berkleys latest Line!! BARGAIN!!

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

I bought a Carp Turbo mega 30 reel from my local tackle shop for about £25.00. It is much smaller than "normal" baitrunners, more the size of a match reel. It has given me great service so far and I have caught a carp of 19lb 7oz on it with no trouble at all.

I just bought an Okuma Interceptor 30 baitrunner to use with my Avon - under £30, seems good so far, a couple of friends have had the non-baitrunner versions for a while and are very happy with them.
