I'd of loved to of been at the Fish In but unfortunatley i'll be in Germany. But after looking at the Wingham, (and the price!) im tempted to cancel Germany haha.

 

Off to see the farmer soon! :)

If your looking to fish an "away water" you could do much worse then take Budgies advice and put your name down for the AN Fish In at Wingham. It's a stunning water and run by a very knowledgeable guy and bailiffs. Potential Big Fish, Good Company & Great Food :thumbs:

well hopfully i might be able, my wife might be accepted in to bristol uni for training as a midwife, if she gets in (she ha the interview on april 13th) then we will move to bristol... i won't be dean in devon no more :huh:

but it gives me a better fishing oppitunity of the south.. lets hope she gets in so i can go to a few new venues

i got a lake near me that has several pleasure ponds around it and one of them can be hired out for the day say a family or small group of friends ...the best bit? the baliff comes round and starts the bbq in the summer and does the usual bbq stuff for the people that have hired the pond.

 

should think its great fun and hireing the pond for £30 a day for upto 6 people plus £5 ahead for the bbq would go someway to helping towrds the rent and maintanance.

 

you and your syndicate mates can take it in turns on the supervising/bbq helps towards rent and makes sure the water stays litter/tackle/damage free.

 

a water like yours is going to be fun for alot of people but it will also quickly get boring for people i would think so private hire plus a syndicate should keep it interesting

It's not my thing, but faced with this situation I would get some like-minded friends together, come to an unofficial agreement with the farmer, and treat it as a private little club with an annual fee (what ever the farmer wants split between how ever many of you there are).

 

If you try to run it as a day ticket water you will be faced with a load of hassle, red tape and legal stuff, plus it will get spoiled by people you won't want there.

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

The friends route suggested by some does seem the least amount of hassle and is likely to be the most enjoyable scenario.

 

Oddly when reading the suggestions of getting a group of freinds together, the Cheers theme tune started spinning around inside my head :crazy:

yea ive never even considered day ticket, im looking to create something a bit more personal. The friends syndicate/club/group of lads is the option were gona go with. Been an seen the farmer this morning, talked money and what we'd like to do and about getting a contract drawn up which is he's happy about. So its a bloody go'er! I like the idea of the BBQ thing and day hire and it did get me thinking about corporate days! We do a lot of clay shoots for corporate days and team building, spot of good fishing and food would probably go down well, but this is in the way off yet.

 

Again, thanks for the encouragement guys, you've sped this up a hell of a lot! And to all you nay sayers ive got two words, "comee onnnnnnn"
