Jim Roper:

Is the executive of FACT elected, or is it like a Quango?

Rather like the House of Lords! Experience and ability has filtered through the system and found its way to the top.

On second thoughts, not like the House of Lords!!

Oxford dictionary, 'Quango, semi public body with financial support from and senior appointments made by the government.'

I hope not!

'And that's why clay-footed people like you, now, are dying on 'em (and you know it).'

Why don't you put that into plain HONEST english so that we all know exactly what you mean? 0r are you going to keep posting in a manner that you hope alludes to some higher degree of intellect? Personally I doubt you have m,uch to offer, but I'm willing to take a chance. how about you tell us exactly what 'people like you' means?

Honest.

English.

Hmm.

I have just about - but only JUST - managed to veer away from the usual Radio 4 / Daily Telegraph / Right English Counties / Pure English Language and Grammar Issue, here (but, make no mistake, with my kinda Ed-u-cay-shion, Slodge', I can do 'it', and, er, then some...)

English.

Hmm...

Whatever British citizens, from whatever background, or from, I suspect, whatever artificial, fancy Ed-u-c' etc, tend to make of it.

I don't wish to insult you, slodge, you are probably a very decent guy, I really don't, we just don't do that sorta thang here, but have you considered, 'like', getting something, 'sorta', something 'like', 'er', 'sort of', a Life...?

No, go ahead, I'm pretty thick skinned. But for crying out loud make it something I can understand!

Best to leave that to some of our very-high-profile, now, but, in reality, rather-less-than-truly-innovative fishers, heh, slodge...?
