Not been online much lately, here. Been a guest of the local hospital.

Had a small heart attack on 5th September, and going back into hospital for a triple bypass.

 

It's been good to keep in touch via the iPhone with a few of you, particularly

Elton and Adam247, the Burgess Brothers and our resident nurse, the lovely Judy.

 

I reckon it'll be mid-November before I'm able to post regularly.

 

In the meantime, keep the good work going!

I'm sorry to hear that. Get back quickly!

 

In the world of angling bankside chatter (and internet forums I suppose) we tend to commiserate what looked to be bad fortune into good fortune. We'lll have you specimen fishing in no time.

 

Tell them to use a weigh sling, photo and release and have them be quite careful.

Thanks all.

Can't really feign surprise as I've got previous history in this area. It runs in my father's side of the family.

That said, the engine needing new fuel lines has come as a bit of a shock.

 

Still, I've already been making plans to be on the river and canal by March, and the lakes earlier.... much to Bernadette's pleasure.

Oh yes, my better half likes me when I'm fishing...she calls it 'joining the hman race!'

Alan,

 

I hope you get this before you have to go in. As experts, I believe all anglers have an obligation to send you with the best possible selection of knots (nothing worse than a sloppy knot you know).

 

I suggest the double surgeons uni for a by-pass.

 

Anyone else have a recommendation?

Also, Toad Smith, of Franklin Alabama, one of my favorite carp fishermen, swears he caught a fish on a piece of his own heart, a blue catfish squeeker (tiddler - small fish). "When he had heart bypass surgery, Ol' Toad asked the doctor to save a piece heart that had been removed and wouldn't take no for an answer. I believe him.

 

Maybe? You'll be the only Englishman who knows?

I will be thinking of you and all my best wishes on a speedy recovery.

Fishing seems to be my favorite form of loafing.

I know the joy of fishes in the river through my own joy, as I go walking along the same river.

 

What do you think if the float does not dip, try again I think.
