That sounds more like philosophy than science.

Maybe - who can tell where science ends and philosophy begins ? Certainly not our seats of learning, who award a scientific researcher with a higher degree called Doctor of Philosophy.

...... pluck the Earth out of the Solar system, all the planets and other bodies orbiting the sun with the exception of our moon would trundle on with only minor adjustments to there orbital paths. Take the Sun out of the picture and there would be no solar system, there would be nothing for the planets to orbit around.

Thats a bit like saying that if you plucked a rivet out of the Forth Bridge nothing much would happen, but if you plucked a girder out you might do serious local damage.

It doesn't really matter if Bobj is "upside down". He's an astronomer, we get used to seeing the universe upside down.
Which is why I am a bit surprised that you don't see that Ptolemy is not "wrong" - the simplest analogy I can think of is the "reversed clocks" running anti-clockwise which some pubs have as a novelty. They tell the time perfectly well, although at first glance they appear "wrong"

...and Phone, I would support Cory re "off topic" - many of ANs most interesting discussions have been the result of someone going off topic.

Besides, who is to say what is or is not relevant? (or for that matter, what is or is not relative) - perhaps the Eurozone's troubles are a result of the Greeks (and many others?) metaphorically "walking about upside down"

Tory MP Philip Davies said: ‘This just shows what the project is all about. President Sarkozy is not interested in what we have to say. He is only interested in getting his hands on our money. As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Maybe we should with hold any payments we have been ordered to make to them.

Just imagine what we as a nation could do.

There was a top enonomist on the BBC this morning, a very interesting interview. We should look further than the EU to do business. He then went on to mention countries with an economic growth rate wich is far greater than the EU.

The EU rulers think they are the be all and end all.

As for Charles de Gaulle, who gave him refuge when he needed it ? Erm, was it Great Britain.

An interesting thing to say ??

Which God would that be.

It was a Gedankenexperiment, a thought experiment. I could have said "as if by magic" instead of God. I wasn't being religious.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.
