I have some thoughts on this and think the author has some interesting points.

I think you'll find that a lot of the members on this site have some thoughts on this...it's good to see somebody in the 'media' making the point!

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!

nope...but match fishing has ruined a couple of my favourite lakes; with trees being cut back too far, banks being rid of reeds and nice "hidden" areas so that poles can be shipped and decent weed beds being raked out so that hundreds of fish can be stuffed into keepnets :D

Another nope, match anglers ruined match fishing. If enough match angler wanted something different it would be available, I blame macth angling for all the the sort muddy holes in the ground that every one likes to moan about.

Overstocking has made some fishing into little more than a joke - it's not the carp's fault, and in fact I feel rather sorry for them. The sad thing is, there's a market for it.

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music
