I did mention a while back in this forum, about a photo meet up here in Cumbria. Thats still very much a thing I would like to do in October when we have fewer tourists around and room to move. If anyone visits this north western part of the lakes before that, then a pm to me before you arive will secure a tour of some of the more photogenic areas here.

Here's another reflection from yesterday, this time an angler in boat on Loweswater Lake. At 1 mile long and half a mile wide he was the only angler on the lake!!

Den, after two years of feeding niger seed I've finally encouraged Goldfinches into our garden - unlike yours, this was taken at close range (600mm) in the back garden just a few days ago.

Judy, Rabs was real close with a "long" lens, I was 24mtrs away with 1.7 converter +10x optical zoom + 4x digital zoom.

His pic is sharp, mine are fuzzy due to "pixilation" (or grainy in old language)

I sat in the garden near to some cornflowers with seed heads and waited....troube is, there are several other clumps of CF around the garden, and this bird chose to settle on the furthest away :)

I used a tripod and air release.

Stick with it Girl, you will get your pic soon (or even next summer)
