"old fashined honest cons".....

What a bizarre fantasy world you live in.

Honest cons like theives who leave people feeling violated and take the cherrished things that they've worked all their lives for?

Honest cons like fraudsters who prey on the vulnerable and the elderly?

Honest cons like the violent in our society that leave their victims with such mental scars that they can't leave their own homes?

Honest cons like murders - though not child murderers obviously?

I'm confused, who exactly are these honerable gentlemen of which you speak - and would you be happy with them living next door to you on their release?

Unfortunately lots of completely innocent people are turned into criminals by their own choice .

If you cannot prove your innocent (forget that crap about the onus of proof being on the police what do you think an alibi is?) you are given a choice ,admit your guilt at magistrates court or try to prove your innocence at crown court its the first thing out of the mouth of your defence person

Its far cheaper to get convicted at magistrates court than being found guilty at crown court and you pay the costs as well .

I am not only a criminal in law i am a convict ,oh the trespass law i "broke" it was chucked out on return to court on my release ,unfortunately magistrates are not in the main trained in law and they can have the power mad bit as well ,i was unlucky that day

This scenario happened to me once So I chose to go to Crown Court I had witnesses to prove my innocence ,The look on my solicitors and the magistrates faces was a sight to see .Next thing I know case thrown out of court.

When I was much younger and used to tour the UK with motor cycle and minimum fishing gear in summer, I was too poor to pay for bed and breakfast, so used to regularly kip in fields or old barns (you never seem to see old barns these days - everything is clad in corrugated iron and padlocked).

Never got "caught" otherwise I would have had a long record of vagrancy, but that may have been because I would be well on my way at first light.

There was much more free fishing then.

I remember one trip to Cornwall where I ran out of money on the way home, and having spent my last on petrol, ran out of petrol 20 miles from home, and had to push my motorcycle the rest of the way.
