PB Barbel

As many of you know i am a Fisherman of many years, I am proud to announce that I have caught a Personnel best Barbel weighing in at a whopping 12 lb 1 oz. This is a new fishery for me around the Newark I am not Disclosing the exact location nor sending the News worthy fist to the press as I want to keep fishing in this area.

 

I have posted on the Barbel Society's Site but no pix as of yet if an one would care to look it is now in my New Gallery please have a look.

 

This PB has taking me 37 years to catch since I first started fishing on the River Thames I have been fishing for 44 years and that is why I am so please , hope you can understand

Species caught in 2016: Alder, Blackthorn, Common Ash, Crab Apple, Left Earlobe, Pedunculate Oak, Rock Whitebeam, Scots Pine, Smooth-leaved Elm, Swan, Wayfaring tree.

Species caught in 2015: Ash, Bird Cherry, Black-Headed Gull, Common Hazel, Common Whitebeam, Elder, Field Maple, Gorse, Puma, Sessile Oak, White Willow.

Excellent catch!

 

As a fairly new fisherman, I'm now beginning to understand why so many people seem to struggle when I tell em my PB barbel (given I've only been targetting them for this past summer only)....didnt realise fish of that size were so hard to come by!!!!

 

On that basis, I could be waiting a looooooong time before I beat my PB :-(

 

Well done again.....its a great feeling to catch something special aint it :sun:
