Sorry but I've got to say it

A tongue in cheek post really, there was a thread last winter when JV44 made the point that once summer comes we'll all be moaning about it being too hot, having to carry too much water, sunburn etc etc. I love being out in this weather.....shorts and a T shirt in a shady spot twirling away the hours. My club hasn't been able to cut back the nettles and brambles at some river venues (lake maintenance is taking priority after the floods) so getting to swims can be a painful experience.

 

I do agree that autumn/winter angling brings a lot of practical advantages, the vegetation starts to die back, it's easier to get up for dawn sessions and fishing into dusk doesn't mean most of the day's gone when you get home.

 

Was planning a trip out today to some new venues, the lightning rather than the heat might scupper that though.

Its not to bad if you pick your spots ,one side of the pond is in the sun until 3 then the shade hits the water as the sun goes behind you ,the other side is shady until 3 pm when the sun hits you like a forge and its annoying as even a peak wont stop the glare because its bouncing off the water into your face.

Must say on the walk there thursday i drank all my juice and could have done with another bottle ,i may put some pictures of my trip there (the country around here is great for so near london) if anyone wants me to ,probably on dropbox as the AN site has a tiny upload limit and i cant be arsed to manipulate everything into tiny portions

Well as Rusty was a bit fwhiterned of the scary Thunder claps I went on my own for a recce taking just the float rod bait apron and landing net for company.

Bits of the kennet I last fished as a RDAA member back in 89 ,lots of little stuff and I love the way time shoots by when you get engrossed catching Gudgeon and the like .

The bloody nettles go right through the only trousers I've got cool enough to wear in this! Keeps the hossflies off at least.
