doesent anyone do anything for themselves today  even as a kid i stripped reels totaly for their annual service! it isnt complicated at all infact they are pretty basic in design :(

the reel isnt worth the postage both ways never mind the final price with the parts and labour on top.

theres very little (even in modern times) that cant be repaired if it comes apart by anyone with the correct tools (even things that dont come apart most times can ;) ) in the case of a reel even a girly will have a screwdriver and pair of pliers (those to remove the flyer nut)

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

The bail arm on a Match is stiff at the best of times when you close it by winding the handle. Put some oil on all the joints and then close it manually by pushing the "hinge" inwards. Do this a few times and it should loosen up enough to work normally. If not it's probably just dirt inside the spring slot. If you want to take the bale arm off make sure you get plenty of penetrating oil into the screws before you take them out because one of them is very narrow for the size of its head and the head can snap off if you are too heavy handed.

The bail arm just wont trip back over (to close) and the hinge wont push back if I try to do it manually.I will see if I can identify the problem one night this week and have a go at sorting it out myself (Chesters1 will be happy  ).I think something may have gone amis under the spool plate.
