I got my renewal emails the other day for my licences and this year they promised if you enter new login details you can buy 2 at once rather then the usual rubbish of doing two seperate applications. So progress of sorts i thought.

 

Well after not receiving either licence last year after doing seperate applications and phoning and ordering replacement twice before getting them I had hoped that maybe things would have improved. The year before last, one never turned up and required chasing and so I had a few reservations about the system but surely they can not get it wrong every year!

 

So after creating a new log in the other day, guess what the payment part never worked. Tried about 4 times now and this is the latest message from a few minutes ago.

 

Something's gone wrong with our website server – there is no problem with your computer or internet connection. We apologise for this inconvenience and are working to fix this as soon as possible.

 

 

How hard is it to get this right, ever year the online system fails spectacularly. Rather annoying when you have to buy it. If you where buying a product from an online store and the serive was so poor you could and would go some place else.

It seems as though every year we get various versions of this tale of woe; I'm wondering whether it might be a regional thing, as I've never had a problem ... think the longest I've waited for delivery of a licence after ordering online (after the start of the season) was 4 days, and if I ordered pre-season, the licence invariably arrived before it was needed.

 

Perhaps before saying this, I should have waited --- ordered online this morning, so I'll let you know when it hits the mat!

I ordered yesterday with no login, so did it twice (once for each licence). no problems at all. Just awaiting envelopes in the post

The reason it doesnt work is simply because the person who signed the chegue for the system was bribed or a fool for believing the company who told him it would.in my world the cheque signer would be fined the amount it cost ,sacked then beaten with his children watching as punishment for corruption or foolishness with other peoples money

the company from the installers up would suffer the same with the directors being made bankrupt their assets removed and themselves imprisoned for decades ,you may then just might get something that does what is claimed

Site still not working this morning, very poor but I guess I should plan and buy it early as once they send out reminders the traffic shoots up and the system obviously can't handle it. I am not one to wistfully go on about how things where better in the past when it comes to fishing but I do miss not being able to buy a licence at a tackle shop or venue.

 

Sod the big Roach that the Coppermill at Walthamstow Reservours used to have, its being able to buy a new licence at the gate house I miss the most.

I got to the stage where I had to re-register an account with the PO that I gave up. Luckily I work close to an actual PO so I'll just go there in a lunch hour one day.

 

An annual direct debit would be nice!

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music
