I thought this programme was excelent. The filming was stunning. I thought I done a few shleps to get to a peg I wanted to fish on the Severn but two days!!!!

I think some of the other angling pundits, no names, would have been in and out of that lake by helicopter in no time.

Well done

Watching the second episode now (couldn't watch it last night, LOTR was on Channel 4 ;) ), and thoroughly enjoying it.

Charles, I did notice one small mistake in the first episode - at one point you said the car you were travelling in was an Austin Ambassador, it was in fact a Hindustan Ambassador, based on the 1940's series II Morris Oxford. It was the first car to be made in India after Morris sold the company all the tooling in the early 50's. It was naff in the 40's and age hasn't improved it much.

Looking forward to episode three....

I really enjoyed the programme and like Colin I am off to paint a giant Phallus on the side of my house; to see if it improves my fishing.

It will certainly annoy the neighbours if nothing else.

I wonder if Charles managed to get that walking stick back through customs.

My daughter-in-law who hates fishing said she would start if the scenery was as spectacular as that on last night's programme. She works for the EA as well!

Tony U I think the neighbours might complain! :-)

Just as interesting would have been his conversation with the Customs officer as to how it came into his possession and what he intended to use it for.

""I see sir, it brings you luck when you go fishing???"":rolleyes::rolleyes:

I dont normally post on this forum as i just like to sit back and read. Buy in this case i feel the urge to add my oppinion on what i think is about the best programme of this type i have ever seen. The main thing i like is the way presenter is not trying to be something special like some i can name in certain fishing shows. Watching last weeks about the mahseer i found the scenery and the fish breathtaking. This weeks in bhutan was absolutely awesome, the country, the scenery, the people everything about the place is stunning what a way of life and what a place to live. I would like to thank you charles for a brilliant programme one which i wont be missing a minute of.......... :):):):)

I know this isn't an out and out fishing programme and i didn't expect it to be but i did think there would be some fishing in it :o I did expect at least half of travel and half fishing and what we got was mainly travelogue with a tiny bit of river fishing and then a tiny bit of the lake at the end :(

The scenery ect. was stunning and i think Charles did a good job but when the main theme is about angling and there isn't much of it then what is the point as you might as well just make a travelogue!

Enjoyable but please a bit more fishing in the next one :)

With my silken line and delicate hook,i wander in a myriad of ripples and find freedom!

I once met a guy from Surrey at Loch Lomond. It had taken him nine hours to get there and he spent the entire week sitting in his bivvy. I spent the week messing about in my boat, walking my dog on the islands, drinking in the pub, having a laugh with the like minded souls and catching the odd pike. I expect if the man from Surrey watched this program he thought it needed a greater "fishing content". I think what is at issue here is what "fishing" actually means!
