Clock

My computer clock seems to be unable to keep good time.

Is there an extension for Firefox that will synchronise my computer clock with something more accurate?

Thank you both for your help. :)

assuming you are on XP you have all you need.

I'm still on 98. -_-

Renew the battery on the motherboard.

Screwdriver job eh? Is that a PP3 by any chance, I didn't even know it had one.

Is there nothing clickable that will do it? :D

If you do decide to change battery, I am pretty sure you have to write down your BIOS details first.

You see? I knew it wouldn't be easy. :D

I went with this one, from Nick's second link, it's easy peasy and works fine.

when you start the computer does it ever warn you that the time is incorrect or anything to do with a battery ? if it doesnt your fine if it does you need to change the battery, its very easy and is like a watch battery but much bigger, like a 10 pence piece and pops out and in with ease.

Yes it works nicely :clap2:

But if you have XP you do not need any third party software to keep your machines clock up to date. XP has a built in NTP (Network Time Protocol) client. To configure your NTP client, double-click on the clock in your task bar, click on the 'Internet Time' tab, and type 'europe.pool.ntp.org' (without the quotes, then click on 'Apply'. To test that this is working properly click on the 'Update Now' button. After a short delay you should see a message telling you that time has been successfully syncronized with europe.pool.ntp.org. Now click on OK, job done.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.
