Like wise I never met Alan but always found what he had to say on here to be of use or be thought provoking.

As many have said, Alan was so trusting, when I got a set of disgorgers from him he sent them before he could have got the cheque, let alone cleared it. Every time I use one of them now a little thought will go to you.

Love to Sonja, take care

Alan was always ready to help a fellow angler, and the courage he displayed throughout his illness and treatment was an example to us all.

We will miss you Alan, but at least you are beyond pain now.

Our sincere condolences to Sonja, his family, and his many friends.

We have lost a Brother Angler - it hurts.

I also never actually met Alan in person, but his generosity & kindness touched me.

One of life's true gentlemen, we can all learn a lot from people like Alan.

My best regards & deepest sympathy go out to the family he has left behind, it must be a huge loss.

I know Alan drived a lot of strength from this group when he was still able to post. When the dust has settled maybe one of the posters closer to Sonja could contacted her re us all clubbing together at AN and providing something from us all - Not really making sense as a bit all over the place on hearing this even thou it was expected but I think everybody knows what I'm trying to say :(
