a simple question

It's an unfortunate fact of life that when the government ask for your views you need to give them your views in the way they want. You do not need to say what they hope for, but it needs to be recognizable as fitting the parameters they are looking for.

Unfortunately I suspect that DEFRA would say they do listen to ICES and that they do enforce the rules. It is best to look at things from DEFRA's perspective, understand their mindset, and set about making them understand things by using that inside knowledge. Attempting to be "smart" won't work.

If you want to be listened to by DEFRA, and want to have an impact then I am afraid that you need to play by their rules, it is there game.

And before anyone tells me that civil disobedience, or withdrawal from negotiations works please talk to the folks I grew up with in a mining community in Yorkshire. Sorry I should say former mining community.

They took the approach that we can beat the government of the day by doing it our way, they had a lot more weapons at their disposal, and look what happened to them!

Most of my relatives including my mother came from a place called aberfan, glad it's all cleaned up nicely now. Pity about most of my uncles who ended up on disability with lung problems. Glad maggie won though as i didnt want to be ruled by the likes of mr scargill.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

It would be easy Nick.

DEFRA to listen to ICES and act upon the evidence and enforce the rules. Stop commercial fishermen from finishing off the sea before its too late. Simple question simple answer. No need for a big list Nick it would all come right if they kept the pirates of the sea in check.

Hello Glen

Do you realy want DEFRA to act upon Ices advice of Zero catch of cod ?

I fish to live and live to fish.

but I'm afraid that that sort of answer will just get binned (I suspect) as it doesn't actually say anything.

For someone who so clearly knows what you don't want Glenn you are very reticent about saying what you do want.

Let's start you off with an example:

In 2027 I want to be able to fish from my local beach with a reasonable expectation of being able to catch a cod of greater than 10lbs in weight. Much as I would have been able to do in the 1960's.

I predict 2027 will arrive and there are still no cod, you are restricted with all sorts of rules and regulations you will have very large foreign trawlers working up to your golden mile, and your catches will be no better than they are to day .

Any body willing to hold the bets

I fish to live and live to fish.
