a simple question

I hope this is a simple question to answer - I think it is.

Do you accept the simple fact that there is going to be a Recreational Sea Angling Strategy developed by DEFRA, whether we like it or not?

Please note, the question is about whether you accept it is going to happen - not if you like it, not what it should contain, just a simple statement of fact.

Simple Answer:

Yes.

Simple attitude: I don't agree with it.

Out of many things I enjoy in life, those that start with an F tend to feature the most.

Since the question only requires a short 'yes' or 'no' answer, I will delete any post that descends into the usual (and very boring) RSA v commercial fishing argument....

My answer? Yes.

Having just received a copy of Draft 4 which Richard Ferre refers to as a

fine effort.
I fear the answer may be yes. I had hoped the uk sea anglers may have come together to do something about this but given the desire of DEFRA to fast track this strategy unopposed by angling rep bodies I fear the Strategy will become a reality before a majority of anglers understand what it means to them.

As I understand it the Government will need the marine Bill to implement a lot of the measures within the strategy, This may be a year or so away. If it's stalled again we may just get an election before they manage to get it through. Maybe if they get voted out the new bunch will do something different. Clutching at Straws I know but when you see things as negatively as I do you do start clutching at those proverbial straws.

Short answer Yes.

Long answer above and if John S snips it Ill cut off his nads :DB)

Well, it's supposed to be developed by DEFRA and stakeholders, so as you've asked if I accept that a strategy will be developed by DEFRA, the answer has to be no. Ask me if I think DEFRA will ignore RSA and develop it on their own anyway, and I'd probably answer yes. But again, ask me if I'd accept that and I'd answer no.

Is that a complicated enough answer to a simple question?
