not only changes in tilt but in the past magnetic changes where the poles "change" and your compass would be 180deg out.

If this is the case and it is a primary cause of global warming i don't see what mankind can do about it they sure as hell can't alter the orbit or tilt of the planet.we may be clever but we aren't that clever.

If everyone gets in their cars, buses and trucks and drives to the same spot, it's bound to have an effect.

 

 

The same as if everyone on the planet decides to drive west (or east) at the same time, it will effect the Earth's rotation and therefore the length of the day (which will affect the climate!)

There also seems to be a lot of folks who are more or less 'scientifically illiterate'. They don't seem to realise that there are no scientific theories that are written in stone, if a theory no longer fits the observable facts, then it gets chucked out and we look for a new one. I am not a scientist, but I like to think that I apply the scientific method to my 'world view'. If someone finds evidence that challenges my world view I would like to think that I would change my opinion and not just make the logical fallacy of saying 'I can't undesrstand this, so therefore it can't be true" attitude that is so prevalent these days.

This is the problem cory the theory of anthropogenic global warming is just that a theory and yet the govenment and certain popular media figures(who know as much about the science of global warming as my ar*e) are pushing this forward as scientific fact when actually there are other theories put around by other respected scientists( i posted a list of names of some of these scientists in an earlier post) as to why the globe is warming up that do not involve or involve to a much lesser degree the effect of mankind and yet various people seem to ignore these equally viable theories because they're not popular or fashionable(i.e you can't raise taxes because of them).

i thought you could just get one of the acme rockets wiley coyote uses and strap that on to the planet to alter its angle and rotation or maybe get everyone in china to jump up and down at the same time.
