First time I have seen one like this in my garden..

Appeared in my garden today, I think I have seen it before, but too fleeting a sight to ID. Stopped for a bath today, so got a chance for a pic. I am a couple of hundred feet up in the Nth Downs so only water nearby are garden ponds and my tiny pumped stream.

 

Smaller than a sparrow or the warblers down in the valley below.

Juvenile Greenfinch?

 

Send the photo to the Sun saying it's a baby Dodo - I'm sure they'll run the story (if the killer white porbeagle shark is anything to go by....) :huh:

Thanks lads, Warbler it is then. I thought maybe chiff chaff, but the legs give it away :) I am used to seing them "down in the valley" but was surprised to spot it in my garden.

 

John S, I have pics of juvenile GF, def not one of them,

 

Ayjay, got a couple more shots, they show the "thin" beak, but the eye stripe is not clear due to blurring.
