Anger At Rising Cost Of Concessionary Rod Licences

Recommended Posts

This is directed at all who don't agree with concessions for the disabled.

You pay 25.00 a year for your license - yes?

If the disabled get concessions you pay 25.00 a year for your license - yes?

If the disabled don't get concessions you pay 25.00 a year for your license - yes?

So it actually make no discernible difference to you or the cost of your license whether the disabled get concessions or not - yes?

So - WTF is your problem????????

Let's agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours may be.

Why do you care?

Are you jealous ?

Do you wish you were disabled ?

Do you think that its not fair ?

Disabled anglers don't pay full price because they don't have to - feel better now ?

It may not make a difference to the price I pay, but it does make a difference to the amount of revenue the EA collect and have to spend on improving the fishing for ALL of us.

Therefore the concession does affect the angler that pays the full rate.

Technically that depends on whether you benefit from the EA licence or not, I know anglers who only fish small farm ponds etc so it wouldn't make a difference if a concessionary licence was free they'd still be paying for sod all anyway.

A quote from the EA

Angling is one of the most popular outdoor activities amongst disabled people," says our Head of Fisheries Dafydd Evans. "We hope extending this concession will encourage more disabled people to take the sport up. We anticipate an extra 45,000 people will buy the discounted licence."

So they sell 45000 more licenses and the overall take is increased so everyone benefits

Now ask me one on sport <_<

Now read the quote properly.

We anticipate an extra 45,000 people will buy the discounted licence.

Note there is no mention of the extra 45000 all being NEW anglers,

Your logic is therefore flawed, and I suspect many of them were actually full price paying anglers before the scheme was extended and the overall effect is a net loss to the EA.

you suspect ?

you talk about my logic being flawed, and then say you suspect !

How many of them do you suspect were paying the full amount -10%,20%,50% ?

Do you get your statistics from the same place that says 70% of disabled people are liars and criminals (OK lets be pedantic, 66.6%)

How do you know that the overall effect is a net loss to the EA ?

The fact is that you have no idea what the overall effect will be, and I will freely admit that I don't either.

I suspect that it will make very little difference to your life though, although it might make a little difference to the recipients.

Exactly the point I was making! you quoted that peice from the EA website and catagorically stated that it meant that the EA were better off. now you are having a go at me because theres not enough infomation to know what the figures mean. Make your mind up which side of the arguement you want to take :)

And the difference to my life? little correct. but an extra 1/2 million quid would make a lot of difference to the EA, and thats how much they could potentially be losing out on if the 45000 anglers in the quote were in fact existing full licence payers.
