Guest Shots for fun

Hello Guys and Girls,

I have Drank the God's nectar all my life, well since i was seventeen. I must say now and for ever i do not like single malt.

Give me Johnny Walker Black Label or if you can find it, Dewars White label.

Long live the blended.

I live about 50yards from the Royal Lochnagar Distillery, where they make, I am told, a fine single malt.

Can't stand the stuff myself, pussers rum for me

Let's agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours may be.

Very good thread Ken L, thanks.

The best whisky I ever had was a bottle of Laphroaig Quarter Cask I once bought on holiday but the cost is very prohibitive. I bought a bottle of Asda own brand Islay malt for £14.98 today - anyone any opinions on this one? (I guess I could always taste it!)

Gerbil0154 - Thanks for your comments, nothing like the voice of experience. You have got me thinking and I think the next whisky purchase may be Irish.

I usually drink mine with an equal amount of (Scottish) bottled water and sometimes a glass of Guinness Original.

What is the latest wisdom on ice? Good or bad?

Good if you like it, bad if you don't :)

Anything chilled will have a less well defined taste than the same item somewhat warmer.

So if you really want to extract the full flavour avoid the ice. But other than that do as you please.

Never found a whiskey that I liked...never looked far though...first lot I tried (and the last) made my head spin, and I felt out of control.

Is that what it is all about?

Yes, basically. Also for some reason you have this irrational belief that you are the world's greatest lover and a kung fu master.

I have those beliefs too, but they arent irrational at all, they are true......:rolleyes::blink:
