Bloody hell! There's no way I'd like to guess a weight for that leviathan. What a magnificant fish, I'm so pleased it was returned safely.

Hiya, Saw a pic on tonights STV news, it wasnt the best of pics, and was one taken while resusitating it getting ready to release it,...so wonder why the copyright owner doesnt want it on that website ????

 

 

It ( according to STV ) measured in at 54 inches long.... :D a cracker of a fish.... :D

 

 

Hiya, A wee PS, the same pic is in the Daily Mail today .....:)...so THATS why they wanted to protect the copyright !!!!! :rolleyes:

hi ppl am new hear so bear with me the record salmon is mounted in the john norisi shop in penrith and WOW its bigger than me!!!!

Unless the ghilles etc carry weighing slings, unhooking mats and 100lb+ scales, there will never be a record salmon, unless it is killed.

Without the above gear, there is noway that a fish that size can be weighed safely.

I'ts gone back, so I think we can forget it.

They could have a system that fish could be wieghed and returned as in Iceland etc. :mellow:

Don't bother looking for the pictures on the net. The usual jokers have come out of the woodwork and put up some dodgy sites to p155 people off. Some close down with the Esc key, some don't.

This thing seems to have a spotted tail, Atlantic salmon don't.
