Cheaper petrol

I really do not get it!! Diesel here in France is around €1.10 pêr litre and petrol is €1.25 per litre. SO WHY is diesel so much dearer in the UK????

because of the tax ,theoretically the price should be the same worldwide as the cost of crude is the same worldwide

the price of petrol is pretty static ,the tax rises on it makes it appear to rise.

the price of crude hit $90 a barrel but in theory its half that because of the exchange rate do we get it half price? you can bet we dont !!

the price is fixed by a group of thieves who probably moaned about it getting in their wifes beard before the west gave them the right to price fix and ofcourse invented a use for it ,paid to extract it then stupidly let them run it .the west still finds it the country its found in decides to grossly overcharge us for something they probably didnt know they had.

they even decide the price we can buy our north sea oil at

 

oil is mostly all these pathetic countries produce but are great freinds to the west because of it ,once its gone they will revert to buggering their goats again ,slitting each others throats and reminding you civilisation began there (well the middle east anyway) then moan we overcharge them for non oil based fuel.

the chancellor could easily lower the price of petrol merely by removing some tax ,will he ? not a hope in hell theres nothing better to tax than essentials ,with the tax he can give parliament a raise or give them more than 91 days a year holiday as a treat ,he doesent care how much petrol is he just adds the cost of his to his perks or his chauffeur does

Why is fuel nearly allways sold in .9 of a 'p'. I don't remember the last time i see a half 'p' let alone .9 why does the gov let the companies do this when there was a huge row because people wanted to continue selling goods by the lb and not in kilo's.

 

That's a good point. Imagine if we got charged 87.3p for a kilo of apples. And where would the decimal place end? 22.67327846 for a kilo of carrots?

and if you are sorting out a vat invoice and the vat content works out as .something or other as it envariably does, it is either rounded up or down, you never say that will be .something thank you.

 

Chris Goddard, i understand that diesel is cheaper and less costly to refine than petrol, so imagine how much extra profit and gov tax is made on the backs of the guys who have to pay for it.
