'AN is the friendliest and most 'rounded' site in my opinion - I think it's good because many of the members are very experienced and willing to share. The content moves with the seasons, and as the year progresses and target species change different people's expertise come to the fore.'

I think Anderoo's first paragraph of his last post sums up my sentiments towards this fishing forum.

I never really imagined myself contributing to a forum of any kind but have found Anglers Net a pleasure to use. I see these things as a means to aquire useful imformation and hopefully dispense some. I generally prefer AN as there seems to be fewer 'keyboard warriors' on here and less threads are posted solely to provoke a 5 page arguements. I try not to get involved in rants or bickering about the most mundane of things as can happen on other sites

The only other sites I use very occasionally are Fishing Magic and World Sea Fishing Foum. Fishing Magic obviously has some very good anglers aboard although a good few of which maybe perceived as a little prickly, there also seems to be a little one up-manship at play but it is generally pretty solid all round site.

I use the East Coast forum on World Sea Fishing Foum and find it a joy to use albeit v.occasionally, as my sea fishing sorties are few and far between these days.

Theres one major difference between the saltwater and fresh water sites I use and thats the info given about very specific fishing spots. The freshwater boys tend to give very little away whereas the beach fishing lot are very free and easy, even though they probably know that it means there may be a few brollys waiting for them in the spot next time.

I think I can understand the reasons involved on either side as I do the same on either disciplines forums but it's interesting none the less.

I belong to about 8 other forums, all about fishing. I have A.N. right at the top of my favourite list!

As someone said AN is a good forum is a good forum but there are better? Better - in the whole it MUST be the best all round angling info website! I think the proof of that is the 12,207 members who have made 792,515 posts!

There may be specialist sites giving very specialist information to a few, but the general info given to the "average" (and above-average) angler who just wants to have a fish on his hook!

I have not been posting much lately, neither have a few other regulars it would seem. Point is there seems to be a lack of quality on AN currently, seems as if the site has been taken over by a bunch of school kids intent on showing us just how much the teaching profession is failing them.

It was not so long ago that on AN we had lively debate that stretched the mind and the moderators, the contribution was of a high quality and made this site unique and truly number 1

I am now not so sure that AN can make this boast, standards have dropped, anyone with a view that does not coincide with a certain attitude on here gets slammed. I still look at this site before any other, but please lets have a bit more quality control before we end up like the rest of the dross.

Are you asking for people to be veted and edumacated before posting?

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..
