Could someone please clarify the position re a car if you qualify for Full motability ?

 

What is "free" and what has to be paid for ?

 

Is a deposit required?

it looks pretty good on the first glance but anything you could put tackle in with ease costs most of your mobility so you can go out but starve or settle for the free tax disk (as we do) and get both.

it would be nice to have a car newer than 89 but beggars cant be choosers ,it would be fine if one or more worked but in our case one cant and the other looks after her.

 

KEN L the form we had to fill in was completely different to the old one and far easier but seemed to ask the same question more than once!

And free RFL. IF they tell you about it!! I was apparently entitled for several years with my War Pension. BUT Just like the benefits I SHOULD have had from day one no-one though to tell me. SO my advice Den for what it is worth is ask and then ask again!

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

OI OI,

I had a mobility car for several years, basicaly the lease hire the car to you for 3 yrs, take all your money, B U T when you are on your 3rd year you now have to get an R.A.C. inspection & THEY PICK OUT EVERY LITTLE DENT & SCRATCH ON THE CAR WHICH you HAVE TO PAY TO GET PUT RIGHT. so now im driving a P. reg almera loads of room for tackle & my pal. think on before you get one. P.S. save your money for a few month's & buy a good second hand one you still get your FREE car tax. hope that is some help.

Your best bet Den would be to get yourself down to one of the car dealers.....FORD / PEUGEOT (Motability accredited) and they can give you a booklet of all the cars offered for Motability and with the payment (if any) towards a car. I know that it was possible to get a Range Rover on Motability (some years ago now) with an up front payment of £15,000 !!!
