I'm sorry matey, but that's total crap! <_<

Anyway -

Statement from Jonathan Shaw:

And this is the crunch line.

"In view of the concerns expressed, including the extent to which sea anglers expected to see benefits from the charge, I have decided not to proceed with enabling powers in the Marine Bill to introduce a sea angling licence."

It says he has no way of delivering the benefits that anglers require, so he's dropping the idea. For now.

DRUNK DRIVERS WRECK LIVES.

Don't drink and drive.

No mate its not crap. I have told you and others have told you but you don't want to hear it. NFSA and SACN sat down with DEFRA on the Inshore fisheries working group - angling sub committee. The licence was conceived within that group on the quiet. They are guilty as hell.

Anyway thats now passed we just have to make sure that when anything happens in the future the right people are part of the process. Those people being the anglers on the ground.

I reckon one of the reasons they have delayed a licence is that they know they can't improve angling without upsetting the commercials, ie. banning them from inshore waters.

If they don't ban them, they will continue to scrape everything living from the sea.

One thing is for certain, if Mr Shaw thinks we're going to be quiet and let things get back to "normal" he's got another think coming! The days of commercial fishermen "owning" the entire fish stock have gone and they won't be coming back.

Technology helped screw up fishing in the first place and technology, in the form of the internet, is what can fix it. If a million anglers in the UK can cause fisheries ministers to at least think about us, think what ten million anglers throughout europe can do, filling the inboxes of the EU fisheries ministers who actually have the real power!

How about someone setting up a contact list, so we can send someone an e-mail reminder that we are out here whenever we have an idle minute :)

If you want to contact EU Fisheries Officials then start here:

Directorate-General for Fisheries and Maritime Affairs

Unit for Information and communication

European Commission

B-1049 Brussels

Fax +32 2 299 30 40

Contact details for Joe Borg (The top guy in fisheries) and his team are here:

http://ec.europa.eu/commission_barroso/borg/team_en.htm

But of course it's the EU MEPs that can really make things start to happen if they have a mind to.

You can track down your own MEPs here:

http://www.europarl.europa.eu/members/public.do?language=en

The main body lobbying for angling in the EU is the European Anglers Alliance (which the NFSA is a member of).

You can get advice from them, and perhaps give them some help.

see: http://www.eaa-europe.org/

To keep up with things happening in EU fisheries:

Hope that helps.

Guest challenge
A victory for sea anglers in this country sense prevails . :clap2:

I am genuinely pleased for you Paul, I only hope that in twelve months time you still believe that the declaration of a withdraw from something that was not there in the first place but could soon return to the same place as it never was to be used as a bargaining tool is a victory.

I think it’s time for you all to regroup, get organised get recognised and sort out differences that could mean the difference in victory and defeat in deffras imminent offensive.

Regards.

What you celebrating then :)

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

The lads were celebrating their future as charter skippers. It must have been quite worrying for some of the guys Barry. I know one just invested 100 grand on a boat, another a large amount of his life savings in a tackle shop and a third just spent 25 grand on a new boat engine.

Don't you think it could be a ploy by the government to let you think that they are doing something for the rsa, next week or month they could quite easily dump something more nasty and sinister on the plate, me just being a cynic.
