Nag, nag, nag....

Yes it would but she bought the pc and expected it to work out of the box ,she had already been told at her favourite store only the super dooper one would work (luckily out of stock otherwise she would have bought it)

So she has a choice continue with her ancient 17" dell or far more easily buy a new monitor with better specs to match her new monitor that came with the pc .

As fitting dongles and adaptors is beyond her only her favourite brother could do it ,which means me and the mrs getting up at the crack of dawn cadging a lift to the bus stop and two buses to where she lives fitting a dongle ,fixing a list of items she will make while the dongle makes its way to me then exausted make our way home with an expensive taxi at the end of it......far easier to get her to buy a new monitor theres only one hole left to plug it into (wink)

I could also cut a hole in her cupboard shssssss

And not all wires work either my tv box has a mini hdmi to standard hdmi lead but it was a meter long ,i bought a foot long one and it nor the other two worked so a wasted trio maybe on the cards fitting dongles and such ,our family is not a lucky one what could go wrong will go wrong

Dont do it Ken! JUST SAY NO!

their tactics for installing this piece of crapware is nothing short of malware. got a call out to an office ive done a few IT jobs for and wasnt realy surprised that win10 installed to all their machines even though they had said no lots of times. the one that got them was the one where the red X doesnt close and cancel like its meant to but takes that as "oh ok so you do want to install win10 ill just do that silently and scare the crap out of you when you come in to work on monday and nothing works"

its shocking but that wasnt really why I was at the office (wanted 1 new pc setup) although it did give me a chance to check out this malware. all i can say is, terrible.

it took me a while to find the address bar on the browser, like aye wtf! couldnt find the damn address bar. thats a massive fail, I couldnt realy distinguish buttons from the background either. theres more to this win10 than microsfts feeling generous. Do you think they will give full refunds of windows 7 now that they have effectivly taken it away from you.

I seen a US woman was awarded $10,000 in small claims court because it installed without her permission basicially screwing up her business.

One day you will all say, that crazy tinfoil hat wearing haggis muncher was right all along.

Well, you just bought a huge smile to my face Andy.

I seem to recall you lambasting me for not really wanting to "upgrade" from XP to windows 8.....

I upgraded to W10 from W7 when it first came out. It was OK but I couldn't really see any advantage. Then my PC stated freezing for no apparent reason. I checked on t'internet and it seemed I wasn't the only one so I rolled back to W7 which I have used since with no problem.

I have no intention of "upgrading" again.

If you do upgrade to Windows 10 I suggest you download and install Spybot Anti Beacon. That will aloow you to turn off all the little "spyware" bits that Andy does not like in Windows 10 with onlly a cpuple of mouse clicks.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

Just upgraded from 8 to 10 (which I already use on my tablet), and now I just have to find out how to get my email settings sorted. I'll download that Spybot Anti Beacon thing too, I hate spyware no matter who made it

It's a good little app John. Run it again after any Microsoft Updates, some updates turn some settings back to default. Another nice little tool is Iobit Menu 8. Install that on Win8 or Win 10 to make your start menu look and behave just like Windows 7.

Everything is spying just look at what some apps demand on phones or tablets ,luckily some let you switch off their demands without them knowing
